Windows Movie Maker problem?

I am trying to record a movie from my DV camera to Windows Movie maker and when the recording screen comes on its black, not the color blue WHICH its SUPPOST to be. Whats the problem?

If your DV camera is on, and the cable is connected, theres no problem. Black is normal, just hit record and start playing the video and it will capture it. Blue is just the color that the camera and the tv displays. Hope this helps!

Do you mean the preview screen? This has always been black for me.
