our soul goes to live in the spiritual realm with the Creator

That depends on a couple of things. IF you are a Christian, that is you have done what is outlined in the Bible, then you will be with God, in what we call heaven. If not, then at the very best you are banished from God, which is a very terrifying "Hell" in and of itself. Personally, I believe that your soul does go to hell because of your rejection of Jesus as your savior. God does set a very fair rule, perfection, attained only by what Jesus dis for all of mankind, or disobedience, which leads to banishment. It is a fair way of doing things. Being good is never good enough.

GregoryL-you are wrong-the bible tells us what happens to the soul when we die:

Man is body,:the 5 senses and motor response
He has a soul which contains 1. reason,2 emotion,3,volition,4 memory,5 imagination,6 curiousity,7 perception, 8 desires.
He is Spirit which is 1. revelation from God, 2 prayer to God,3 communion with god, 4 fellowship with saints, 5 spoiritual inner senses/knowledge/conscience 6 spiritual fruit, 7u spiritual gifts, 8 spiritual warfare and it getsx awefully out of balance due to our soul- if the soul uses reason/wisdom and not so much on emotion, he does well to choose the blood of Jesus /salvation. When he dies, the souls goes to heaven-if he refuses the gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, judgement then says in Matthew 10:28 the soul is destroyed in hell, James 5:20 tells of eternal death (also meaning eternal seperation from all that is Holy,i.e. eternal life with god in His kingdom, rom. 2:8-9 of punishment and in Matthew 16:25-28, 22:37, mARK 8>36-37 and Mark 12:29-31.

When we refuse the gift of salvation God,in Christ, has provided for "whosoever will" we are,in essence, spitting in the face of God and His gift of grace (unmerited favor-you cannot be good enough,go to church enough,do good deeds enough, give to the poor enough,do good works enough, etc.) it is His gift if we choose and we don't go to hell due to His choice, He would have none persih but have eternal life with Him, it is our choice.

This is a secret like a password. You will never know until you have discovered. However, if you have done enough good deeds in your life, you do not need to worry about it so much. Life is short and I think we live only once. Be happy and be kind to others.
