I don't plan on moving there or anything that crazy, but I'm thinking of taking a job there. It'd be pretty interesting, but I'm worried I might die. What do you think?

Watch your colors. Especially at night. Ive walkd the streets at night with all the crips and bloods nearby and it was ok. Then again Im mexican so maybe I fit in. hte poitn is, dont attract attention to yourself and try to not be in dangerous situations or out there at night.

If you will be there during normal day time business hours you should expect to have a reasonable degree of safety. Compton is a "strange" place. While it has a reputation as a "high crime" area, some of it's residential sections are very lovely, well maintained areas. The place where you would be working is probably on a main street so you should be OK.

Don't worry *too* much...I mean, Compton and South Central in general has a high crime rate, but do be careful.
Just don't walk alone at night. I don't think working there during the day would really be a problem.

You should be just fine in Compton. It is not as bad and scary as people make it out to be, just don't go walking the streets alone looking for crack at night.

If you're just working there, then it should be fine. in the daytime, anywhere is relatively safe.
and the people who live there are pretty much like you and me in any other city.
just stay safe at night, as you would in any other city.
there might be some people looking for trouble, but just be wary and stay safe.

It depends where in Compton, you going to live at. But be careful and safe...

I'm from NYC. I've been to L.A. I'd feel safer in Harlem than I would Compton.
Even though we do have gangs in NYC, the problem in Los Angeles is MUCH worse.
