i'm considering taking either roaccutane or diane-35 for my acne condition. i understand that roaccutane might cause liver implications, and users often get dry skin.

what abt diane-35? give me your reviews, and whether it works for creating nicer skin! =)

i have already tried other products such as BP (which doesn't do it for me, it dries my skin way too much, and no results). i'm on retin-a already, but results are not good enough.

i am already on my last resort. thx

I' ve been taking Diane-35 for 3 years now. Love it. Cleared up my skin completely. I had bad acne and very oily skin for a long time, but this is the only BC pill that was able to help me. My skin got a little dry from it, but the good side of it - my skin is never shiny even in the summer. I just use a good moisturiser. The only negative thing about Diane 35 is that I have mood swings, but I am not sure if it's because of the pill or my boyfriend getting on my nerves. I tried accutane in the past and I don't recommend it . The skin was just peeling off of me. It was horrible. But definitely try Diane 35, it takes about 2 months for your skin to clear up.

I'm just on my third month now so I haven't notice too much of a difference. I also haven't really experienced any symptoms. My appetite has increased a little, so I've been eating more, but I exercise regularly, so my body hasn't really changed at all. With the side effects, you never know what you're going to get. There will always be a risk of getting them, but if you really want to get rid of your acne, it might be worth it. Just if you do decide to go on the medication, make sure that you are aware of all the risks so that you know when you would need to contact your doctor for worst case scenarios.

There are many 'complications' with taking the isotretinoins. You need to stay out of the sun or use some sunscreen. You also can not be pregnant or planning on having children since it causes birth defects. I would consider some other treatments before the isotretinoins like benzoyl peroxide, some antibiotic lotions, oral antibiotics. The Isotretinoins should be used at last resort when nothing else works.

Can't help you wrt the effectiveness of either.

What I can say is 'Males take cover, and learn to duck'. The effect on females is worse than PMT MUCH worse!
