THE Bible's use of "holy spirit" indicates that it is a controlled force that Jehovah God uses to accomplish a variety of his purposes. To a certain extent, it can be likened to electricity, a force that can be adapted to perform a great variety of operations.

At Genesis 1:2 the Bible states that "God's active force ["spirit" (Hebrew, ru'ach)] was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters." Here, God's spirit was his active force working to shape the earth.

Bible prophecy was recorded when men of God were "borne along by holy spirit [Greek, from pneu'ma]." (2 Peter 1:20, 21) In this way the Bible was "inspired of God," the Greek word for which is The·o'pneu·stos, meaning "God-breathed." (2 Timothy 3:16)

The holy spirit impelled Jesus to go into the wilderness after his baptism. (Mark 1:12) The spirit was like a fire within God's servants, causing them to be energized by that force. And it enabled them to speak out boldly and courageously.—Micah 3:8; Acts 7:55-60; 18:25; Romans 12:11; 1 Thessalonians 5:19.

By his spirit, God carries out his judgments on men and nations. (Isaiah 30:27, 28; 59:18, 19) And God's spirit can reach everywhere, acting for people or against them.—Psalm 139:7-12.

The "Holy Spirit" was added to the Christian pantheon at the Council of Nicaea in an attempt to placate the powerful Marcionite faction who did not believe in an historic, incarnate Christ. The classic description of the Holy Spirit is an almost point for point match of the entity the Marcionites called "Christ".

He's the best thing that ever happened to me. I have one warning for everyone on here. The Bible says that all sin will be forgiven except for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Be careful what you say about Him!!! Speaking an ill word against the Holy Spirit can endanger your soul to eternal damnation. Please heed the warning. If you are skeptical, you can find this in the book of Matthew and Mark also, I believe. God bless you!!!!

Without the Holy Spirit, God's word would never have been revealed unto man, we would have no intercessor for our prayers. We would have no guidance without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Godhead working together with God and Christ to fulfill God's will.

I think of Him as the Trinity-co-equal with God and Jesus which form the trinity.

He indwells us the moment we accept the atoning blood of Jesus to redeem us from the eternal penalty of our sins and He reveals our God and Savior.

Before Christ, I could not understand a word of the Bible-when I became His child,His Spirit reveals it to those who seek truth who is Christ Jesus. I hate it when I grieve and quench the Holy spirit but He forgives or He would not be of the Holy Trinity.

Scripture says He fills us for the purpose of a. becoming like Christ: Gal.4:19;Ephesians 3:16-19, 4:11-16
b. doing God's will Acts 1:8; Col. 1:9-10 and
c. Enduring trials Matthew 10:16-20

He was part of creation Gen 2:1 Ps 104:30,etc.
He was active in the life of Christ in His birth, baptsim, temptation, anointing, teaching, miracles, death and resurrection.
In the world He convicts, calls, wintnesses to Christ and Regnerates.
In the believer He gorifies Christ, indwells, infills, imparts fruit of the Spirit and gifts of the Spirit and He seals us Ephesians 1:13, teaches, comforts, wars with the flesh, sanctifies, empowers for services and in the church He forms the body of Christ (Ibellievers), appoints offices and gives guidance.

He has many symbols, dove, clothing, oil, fire, water, seal, winds, etc. He These basic qualities can always be expected to characterize every Spirit-filled believerl: love,joy,peace,long-suffering,gentleness,goodness,faithfulness,meekness, self-control. He gives assurance of our salvation so that "you know that you know you a re a child of the Lord.

Then, the Lake of hearth this is the 2nd dying, can not harm you: you will flow out and in of the Holy city and be the Presence of the Lamb which torments all others, till their flesh and carnality are burned up. Jesus pronounced that devil had no longer something in Him. We too, ought to grow to be a bottomless pit: a place of no foundations on which devil can locate any purchase interior of us to accuse us. I think it's rather offensive that there is no mention of the Holy Spirit asking Mary permission before impregnating her. Women today would not appreciate such an act against their will.
