In the English language, "Jehovah" is the translation of the personal name of Almighty God. Jesus the Son is a distinct person from Jehovah the Father. While Jesus is himself a "mighty god", only Jehovah is "Almighty God".

Jehovah's Witnesses fully understand and agree that Jesus Christ the Son (who is much more than a mere angel) has been appointed by Jehovah God the Father as King of God's Kingdom. Jehovah God is the source of Christ's authority, so that Jesus is now "better than the angels".

(Hebrews 1:3-4) [Jesus] sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places. 4 So he HAS BECOME better than the angels [caps added]

(Matthew 28:18) And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth.

(Acts 2:36) God made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you impaled.

(John 3:35) The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hand.

(Acts 5:31) God exalted this one as Chief Agent and Savior to his right hand

(Psalm 2:2-6) The kings of earth take their stand And high officials themselves have massed together as one Against Jehovah and against his anointed one... Jehovah himself will hold them in derision..., Saying: "I, even I, have installed my king [Jesus]

The bible teaches that the archangel Michael is the heavenly pre- and post-human Jesus. The term "archangel" is always in the singular, and actually means "Chief of the Angels".

Note that Jesus the Lord calls with an archangel's voice:
. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-16) Jesus died and rose again, so, too... the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel's voice

Note who leads angelic armies (Jesus is "Logos", "The Word"):
. (Revelation 19:13-14) the name he is called is The Word of God. Also, the armies that were in heaven were following him

. (Revelation 12:7) And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled

Who returns and stands up during a time of distress such as has never happened before?

. (Daniel 12:1) "And during that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book.

. (Matthew 24:3-21) the disciples approached him [Jesus] privately, saying: "Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?" And in answer Jesus said to them: "...All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress. ...But he that has endured to the end is the one that will be saved. ...for then there will be great tribulation such as has not occurred since the world's beginning until now, no, nor will occur again.

Once you study it, the bible really teaches that Jesus is Michael. Although anti-Witnesses sometimes pretend that Gabriel (and sometimes "Lucifer") are also archangels, the fact remains that the bible itself speaks of only one single solitary archangel. Who would be above Jesus among heavenly creatures?

Interestingly, the Scriptures refer to *ALL* angelic spirit creatures as "morning stars". Jesus is not excluded from that terminology, but he is elevated by the unique description "the BRIGHT morning star".

(Job 38:4,7) When [Jehovah] founded the earth... When the morning stars [or "angels"] joyfully cried out together, And all the sons of God began shouting in applause

(Revelation 22:16) I, Jesus... I am the root and the offspring of David, and the BRIGHT morning star. [caps added]

Jehovah, like Jesus, is an English translation of the form of the name in Hebrew. The ancient Jews didn't use vowels or the letter J, but both have become acceptable translations over the centuries. Actually, the history of both can be of interest, but t properly appreciate it you should do it yourself and not just listen to those of us who may or may not have an ax to grind with an organization that is proud to use it. There are others that agree that it is God's name, including the creators of the fifth and final reversion of the King James Version, now known as the Authorized Version.

Jehovah is Almighty God's name. Jesus is his Son, a god in his own right, but at the most, only referred to in any Bible as a mighty god, which if you check any dictionary, means he receives his power and life from an Almighty God.

Below is a clip that might be of use to you. If you check the web sites of any Church, you will note that when it comes down to it, they all say Jehovah is the proper name of God Almighty.

Jehovah is the Almighty God's name and He does not have beginning. --Exodus 6:1-3; Psalms 83:18; Isaiah 43:10.

Jesus is the Son of God (mighty god not the Almighty God). He has beginning because he was created by the Almighty God Jehovah known as the firstborn of all creations. Jesus is the first creation of Jehovah's work. --Colossians 1:13-16.

The son in any form of creatures can not be greater or equal to his father.

Remember what happened in the Bible. The name of the Lord is put only down with the consonants. The vowels were not recorded. There was a reason for this. The beliefs in the Old Testament was if you knew the name of a God, you could control that God. Why did God not give His whole name to them then?
Jehovah or Jahweh are 2 different ways that YHWH can be transliterated.

Jesus of the New Testament is Jehovah of the Old. Jesus is the manifestation of the Father. The Bible says no one has seen God at any time but the father is revealed to us through the Son. In OT that was Jehovah, and in the New Jesus. The word Jehvah comes from the Hebrew YHWH. This is the name given in the OT. But Hebrew has no vowels so its pronunciation is unsure. To come up with a pronouncable name they took the vowels out of the word for Lord (Adonai) and put them into YHWH and came up with Jehovah.

Yes, Jehovah, better say YHWH is God's name according to the Old Testament. Jesus was:1) according to Christians, God's Son; 2) according to History, a King of the House of Judah (the same of King David), and a Nazarite ( A Keeper of the Covenant= an Essene= a healer and a man of knowledge). 3) according to Muslims, a Prophet. Peace.

Jehovah is a transliteration with vowels (Hebrew is written as only consonants - a bit like advanced texting) into English of the four letter Hebrew name for god. The letters equivalate roughly to YHVH. It has also been transliterated as Yahveh.

Whether or not Jehovah is god's name, Jesus is supposed by Christians to be god's son and to be of the same nature and essence as god (whatever that might be supposed to mean)

Jesus does not mean "god is with us". God is with us in Hebrew is Immonu Al and is transliterated as Emannuael. Jesus means something like savior. However, if it be conceded that Emmanuel is a name of Jesus it is true to say that Jesus' name means god is with us.

No. YHWH is the name God gave to Moses.

Tetragrammaton are the four Hebrew letters usually transliterated as YHWH or JHVH, used as a biblical proper name for God. Jehovah adds vowels to JHVH and Yahweh adds vowels to YHWY.

YHWH is a name for God assumed by modern scholars to be a convention for pronouncing the Tetragrammaton.

Jesus (Latin) is Joshua (Hebrew) which means God helps/saves/delivers. Jesus is a Jew, a Rabbi, the Jewish Messiah (Christ), King of the Jews (title given by the Romans), and finally the prophet who is return at the end times. The are four accounts (Gospels) documenting his birth, death and resurrection.
