A proper diet is the best way to lose weight naturally and keep it off. You have to eat a varied adequate and balanced diet. Your body needs all kinds of food to function properly including fat in smaller quantities though. Your body needs the nutrients and vitamins in fruits and vegetables the most, that is what you should eat the most of (at least 5 servings a day). You also need protein, and a little fat. Reduce your intake of sweets, fried food and foods that contain a lot of fat. Don't drink too many alcoholic beverages or soft drinks (they have a lot of calories). Don't go to sleep right after you eat. And finally exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week for about 45 minutes.Good luck. You can also get more information about nutrition from this site:

I want to stress out that the effect exercise has on thighs (and other muscular groups) depends on your body type!
So yes, thighs can definitely get bigger because of exercise, especially if your shape is something like either a pear or a hourglass. A hypertrophic muscle (like after training) is going to be bigger, NOT smaller.
If you want them to be smaller (and your shape isn't a rectangle) , you would be better off doing cardio instead (running, or walking briskly). If your shape is a rectangle, you would need pilates.
Good luck!

i doubt that your thighs are getting bigger from exercising, but to be sure, measure around them now, keep a note of the measurement; and after a few weeks, measure again. then, obviously, if they measurement's more, then you were right in the first place.
yes, it is possible to notice a difference in that amount of time. and just so you know, diets are made to be a quick-fix weight loss. not a permanent one. if youre planning on keeping it off, you dont need a diet; you need to change the way you eat, and exercise more often.
good luck.

Don't be alramed when you step on the scal;e for the first time either as you may actually gain weight while losing inches. You build up the muscle mass which takes away from the fat :)

Muscle is larger than fat when it comes to your thighs. Diets are all fads. One may work for you and not for me. Healthy food and exercise are your best bet.
