Depending upon where you park, it's a pretty even deal. The cost for shuttle service or a taxi to LAX will be between $60-80 each way, plus gratuities. Covered parking at one of the off-site lots will run about $10-12 per day, so the cost will be relatively the same. I do not recommend parking on-site at LAX, as this would be quite expensive.

If you have a long journey back, you might find that catching a taxi or service to get you back home may spare you the hassle of waiting for the shuttle to your car, packing the luggage in the shuttle, and then repacking your luggage into your car when you get to the parking area.

I would recommend the shuttle service or taxi.

You might look into a private car service as well considering the number of pople travelling together. I would also look into Fly Away, which might be convenient to Sherman Oaks.

Lastly, asking a friend or coworker to take you to the airport is a great way to build relationships. Just make sure you return the favor down the road.

Parking at LAX for 11 days sounds like a sure way to get your car broken into and/or stolen. Maybe you have a friend who can drive you to the airport?

Definitely use the Flyaway- it is located next to Van Nuys airport. It is convenient, safe, and you'll save money.
