not all africans have black hair usually it is not black its dark brown and people call it black. aficans can also have brown hair and a reddish brown color, but the only way to get your black hair color back is to use a semi permanent color or dye it.

I too have genetically black hair that's become a dark brown due to sun exposure. There was a time of my life when I avoided the sun and always kept my hair completely covered. It was during that time that my hair was pitch black. Perhaps you could keep your hair covered with a hat or scarf to exclude the sun and prevent your fron lightening.

Hey Girl, I'm African American as well but, Our Hair is not Black it's Natural Brown. But lots of people can't tell because, it looks black. But the only thing I can tell you is, go to an African American Hair Salon, and tell them to either Bleach your hair to Black or have it dyed black.

Not all Africans have black hair. (Mine is brown with natural red streaks). If you are wearing any type of chemical on your hair, especially straighteners, these have the tendency to lighten hair. If the color is just naturally lighter, you may have to just dye it.
