Danielle-
I used to be a professional wedding photographer. 6 bridesmaids is the norm. You should of course have 6 groomsmen to balance it. I'm assuming that the 6 girls in your party include (1) maid of honor, and (5) bridesmaids. Any flower girls or ring bearers?
I am sure that the 6 girls you have chosen will be more than delighted to participate and be a part of your special day, and excluding any one of them would be difficult.
Congratulations!

Is this what you want..... Then go for it..... Just remember it is your wedding and if this is what you want dont let anyone change your mind.....

I had 5 bridesmaids, 5 Groomsman, 3 Junior Attendants, 3 Flower girls and 2 paige boys.... When i first told people that is what i was doing --- they thought i was crazy.... But I wanted to include all those that were important to me on this special day (mind you i still had friends that did other things that werent in the bridal party -- helping out at the reception, doing readings during the ceremonies) You will find that the more you involve those close to you for your wedding there will be no nagging (well hopefully none), as they all have there own duties and responsibilities, and at the same time feel important.....

But at the end of the day, it looked amazing and guest commented on how it was done and the photos look amazing ...... No number is never to big or too small....

Just remember to enjoy your day with husband too be....

Best of luck with everything and happy planning......

Its perfectly fine to have 3 groomsmen (or less) and 6 bridesmaids. Just space them out to walk down the aisle (such as have the MOH and BM, then a bridesmaid, then a groomsman and bridesmaid, ect.) or have two bridesmaids with one groomsman or whatever, it can totally work. Some people might find it odd but so what? And if all of the girls are important keep them. It's silly to add unimportant people or remove important people from your bridal party just to have an even number of men and women. Good Luck!

I dont think 6 bridesmaid is too many. Unless you think it is, thats what is important. If someone is pushing you to have them and you dont want them, then say NO. If you want them all, have them all! I had 7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen, And a JR Bm and JR GM, flowergirl and ringbearer. Some said it was way to many, but I had all of the people who are important to me and that I loved in it. (I have 3 sister, and he has 2.) But I wouldnt have changed it for the world.

I was worried about having too many bridesmaids at my wedding because I was 31 when I got married. To me, there is just a certain point when all that hoopla seems silly. But that's just me! I narrowed things down to just my sister and my husband's sister -- that way none of my friends would feel hurt if she was "left out." It worked out fine. Do what you want -- it's YOUR day! But remember that the marriage is what's important. The wedding is only one day.

6 is not too many. Now on the otherhand, my co-worker had 12. That was a lot.

I actually had 6 in mine..but 5 groomsmen. The matron of honor walked with the flower girls and ring bearer. The girls were young, not quite walking. They were in a decorated wagon. Very cute.
