Because of your age, and assuming that you are not married, and depending on what type of car you drive, this could very well be what you are going to pay.

Well, I am 29, had insurance on and off for 13 years. No tickets or accidents, and I pay about $800for a 6 month policy, and I have a mini van. My downside is I live in a higher crime area. I have the 25/50 coverage plan with a $500 deductible. No medical, no roadside, no rental, and basically state minimum on everything else. I still consider this full coverage. Maybe try tweaking the coverages and you will get a lower quote. If you have a sports car, this will explain the high price. A young man and fast car, usually equals an insurance claim......unfortunately.

Good luck getting a deal. It can be very frustrating.

All depends on these:
a) Have you had auto insurance for at least 1 year?
b) Have you had any speeding tickets or accidents in the last 3 years?
c) what area you live in

Sometimes they want to sell you things you don't really need with your insurance, like road assitance (if your car is new why would you need that?) rental cars (which also most cars companies now include that on the warranty) etc, etc.

That seems awful high. You may want to try getting a quote online. I am paying less than ½ of what I was before I did.

A big factor is age, statistically anyone between ages 18-25 is high risk meaning their more likely to have an accident. If you can split the policy with your parents it will go down because you won't be the primary driver. There are other factors that may help you like, good grades in school, safe driving, no tickets/accdients.

I noticed someone asked why you would need rental car or towing if your car was new. I urge you to get the coverage YOU need, not based on what someone on line tells you. If you would be unable to pay a tow bill on site, get the towing coverage, because new cars get flats, run out of gas, etc. Also, the rental car offered on the warranty is only for repair work and excludes comprehensive or collsion losses. So if you need a car to get to work, get the rental car. The rate sounds within reason. Try a higher deductible (but stay within what you can afford)

This sounds right for a first timer. I know that GEICO and State Farm will lower your premiums as time goes by (provided you remain accident and ticket-free). Unsure about the rest. Get one full, clean, year under your belt then you will be able to do some serious shopping.
