Always use unscreen on each scar at least if not the whole leg. There's a product in drug stores, it can be in the regular cosmetic section or the section for Black women or women of color (I'm female and never noticed if they sell this in the guy's section). It will say something like "lightening cream" the key ingredient is Hydroquinone. This will lighten your scar over time, and I mean TIME like months. I have acne scars that took 6 months for me to notice were fading.

Use the lightening cream ONLY on the scars, use a q-tip or something like that. Don't apply where you don't need it or else you'll blotch a little.

You have to keep your skin moist with lotion and use the sunscreen or else it won't really work.

Expensive vs. inexpensive creams don't matter, what matters is the concentration of Hydroquinone.

Good luck!

Hey i have these too and ive been doing alot of looking around... it seems that:
- pure honey
- pure olive oil
- oil from Vitamin E capsules
- cocoa butter and
- aloe vera
all help with the treatment of these scars. All should be left on and not washed off. I've also found that keeping the scars moisturised helps.

you could also try this website. Good luck!

My daughter has had many surgeries and her surgeons recommend that after the scar(s) have had a decent time to heal, rub Vitamin E oil on them daily. I also know a few people who have had some really good experiences with an oil from the health food stores called "Seven Wonders" it has 7 different oils in it (including Vitamin E) - they used it daily until they got good results.

25 years? wow... You're not giving me much hope... I would normally say they fade with time, but.... 25 years is a long time. You could try to use lotions with vitamin E and see if that helps, but if the scars are that bad you might need to see a dermatologist to see if there is anything they can do. I've heard lemon juice reduces liver spots on hands, don't know if it helps for insect scars.

maybe try breaking open vitamin E tablets and putting the oil on the scars before you go to bed at night. I know that this works really well with new scars, but I am not 100% sure it will work on old ones, but I think it is worth a try.

Use Cocoa Butter Girl. My sister had the same problem on her Legs and Arms. My mother gave her a bottle of Cooca Butter. She used it everyday for like three months next thing you know, she had legs and arms like runway model. Cocoa Butter is also for Dark areas like Elbows, Knees, Hands. But not the Arm Pits lol.
