If I put a gun to your head and told you to give me your money, and you didn't so I shot you, it's still murder even though I gave you a choice.
Threat all the way.

The top one is closer. However, it's also not completely right. You're judged by every experience you have, so unless you've actually completely understood the reasoning behind the beliefs, and turned away from them..you wont burn for it. 'That' is what free will is.

Also, keep in mind..If you disagree with something that will be practised in heaven..or wont be..Would it be any fun for you to be there and be restricted in some way, or stuck doing something you dont want to? In a way, it's only logical that those who want what Heaven stands for, to enter it.

I don't believe the Bible teaches in a eternal hell, in the sence people are punished forever. More that the fire will consume them untill they are completely burned up. Hence, eternal consiquences...not punishment.

Blessings and Love

On one hand, you can say "I was ordered to kill someone during a time of war as a necessity to the value of the war." Seriously, you can't fault the footsoldiers for that action. The fault lies in the political policies that govern the war action in the first place. Footsoldiers are just surviving the best way they know how doing a job they signed up to do. But do you call it murder or survival in that instance? On the other hand, you can look at someone with murderous intent and nothing will happen. However, if you strike them in anger or sick frame of mind to cause their death, you are to blame. You should have better control of yourself. If you don't, you should seek help because the murder was preventable. Did the government give you leeway to commit the crime (as in war situations)? Nope. Therefore, you are to blame solely and without the government's ok.

Let me answer your question this way- it would be a threat if He had not sacrificed His Son to die for me, and for the world. We do have a choice to accept His free gift of salvation. We chose to sin, that was not God's idea. He knew we would, so He sacrificed Jesus so that we can live eternally with Him. That is what I call love, not threat. A threat would be if He held a gun to your head. Instead nails were put in the hands of the perfect Son of God. He payed the price that I could never pay. Salvation is free.

believe or burn = blackmail
or at least coercion.
if someone puts a gun to my head and says give me your wallet and car keys or I'll blow your brains out, i could say that i made that choice using my free will. however, that won't stop me from filing a police report and the cops are convinced enough i didn't make a gift of my wordly posessions to actually try to aprehend the criminal....
