A windstorm is very high winds and can cause a lot of damage. Mostly, though, it causes electrical outages. The best advice I can give you is to stay away from windows and don't go outside unless it's absolutely necessary. And never drive a high profile vehicle during a windstorm because you could easily lose control and have an accident. Mostly, though, stay away from windows.

Just get in the middle of your home and try to get away from windows. A bathroom may be the safest place with pillows and blankets. If you have a basement then that is recommended. Don't go running out into the storm.
