What do you think about the whole 'friends with benefits' thing? Me and my ex((just friends now)) still want to make out when we're hanging out and stuff((not all the time, just sometimes)), but I dont want to be known as a sl**. and were not seeing anyone else, were both single.
Is FWB wrong, and would I be known as a sl** for kissing him when were not going out anymore?

Don't listen to what people say. If it feels right to you, and you are both single, go for it. As long as no one gets hurt, you are not doing anything wrong.

There is nothing wrong with friends with benefits.I would like to find something like that.It seems that women get to emotionaly involved when it comes to making out or even sex. They need to have an open mind.I am going through a divorce right now and i am not looking for anything serious, fwb would be just fine for now.And as for the sl** word.....i hate that word with a passion,it's a double standard.....it's all right for men to sleep around...your cool or a player....but let a woman do that....oohh she's a sl**.So my advice to you....go for it...Screw what the world thinks of you. It's you life..live it.

FWB - not good. one should stay away from it whenever possible. i know it's a comfortable feeling, it's familiar, cozy etc, but it's gonna complicate future relationships wayyyy too much. Imagine, you start seing a guy, your ex gives you the puppy eye routine, you feel sorry, next thing you know, either the two guys are duking it out or you've just ruined your chances for the new guy. Or, what happens if your ex sees another girl, then says he still likes you, you get cozy, etc etc etc you know what i mean.

2nd question - you might not be known as a sl** but he'll sure be held in high regard amongst other guys.

Well first of all if your not dating anybody you can do what you want to do and what people say doesn't really matter because opinions are like a**holes everyone has one. But the only thing about FWB is that if one of you start to really like the other one and one of you aren't feeling it then that can cause alot of heartbreak but if it works for you then do what makes you happy just be careful because most of the times somebody develops feelings along the way. Good Luck!

i don't think it's wrong, it's just a personal decision. I've been fwb with my ex, and we did much more than just kissing when we got together. and i don't think it makes me a sl** because i wasn't sleeping around with random guys. i did it because i wasn't completely over him and i thought it would make the process easier. it was stupid of me, of course. we ended up getting back together. so i'm guessing either you or him still have some feeling for one another.

FWB means that a guy or a girl just wants to have regular sex with no strings attached. It's up to you whether you want to provide that 'service' for him. You do risk being known as a slut (to some people), but if you keep it just between the two of you then you can reduce that risk.

People need companionship and intimacy. Friends with Benefits is a wonderful idea for those mature enough and mentally stable enough to deal with the on and off nature of the relationship. What do you care what other's think of your lifestyle? I think that if you feel uncomfortable with what other's think, that maybe you are also not comfortable with the lifestyle. In that case, FWB is not right for you.

It depends on what you want in the end. I think it's okay if both parties are in agreement. But if one person wants it to be more there could be trouble or major heartbreak. Make sure you use protection for disease ( he may be having benefits elsewhere, even if he says he isn't) and don't get pregnant. You really don't need a baby. Your asking for advice on this so I know you are not ready for a child. Be a smart person, don't sell yourself short. You don't need to.

You should probably find someone that wants to be with you in a real relationship...friends with benifits is worse than "getting the milk for free instead of buying the cow". It can scar your rep, as well as keep you out of other relationships if a prospective bf sees you kissing your ex.

i don't you think you would. and you sound old enough to make your own decisions. dont let other people tell you what is right for you. me i don't like the idea of fwb because i like to be in a relationship with the person i am sleeping with and if i am not in a relationship i think i could do without sex

It's fine. You don't have to go around telling everyone if you don't want that kind of a rep. But I personally think it's safer to have a FWB so that you only sleep with one person rather than a bunch of one night stands.
