I am sure there are alot of Christians you haven't spoken to regarding this subject. Also, maybe the bible is evidence enough for THEM and you're just not accepting that answer. Have you actually read the bible from beginning to end and understand it thoroughly? I would think additional research would have to go into this as well. Did you know that Christianity is the top religion in America? Look it up - website is at the bottom.
An answer for me would be because of personal testimonies. It's spiritual connections I've experienced with Christ. If it wasn't for that, the bible alone could not convince me. It can be confusing to grasp at times. So, I am one that goes by faith, but also by the scriptures I do comprehend in the bible. God hasn't let me down once.

Having faith, the Bible and the Catholic Church are all I need for a good argument. In fact, that's what Atheists and Agnostics find so hard to understand. How can you be so sure of something that seemingly has no logical proof to it? They lack any real understanding of "faith." Let it be known that I'm not trying to insult anyone, I'm just telling you what I have come to understand over these last thirty years of my life.

a) If you have a better argument, then why not share it with your friends since they are your friends.
b) What kind of evidence is the Bible? First, to judge that you will have to read it - in fairness to making your evaluation. Second, the Bible records the struggle of humanity toward morality and the question of sin. Third, few if any philosophies do such or arrive at an answer. History and experience are filtered through human lives showing that answer in the Bible.

I totally agree with donica376 when she said "I know that a lot of "christians" only know what they heard from the preacher, but nothing beyong that.". If you're going to believe something, do the research! You wouldn't just believe that the sky is blue, if you couldn't see it, would you? Find out exactly what the truths are by studying. After all, if it is truth, there's no harm in being able to prove it, right?
There's nothing wrong with listening to a preacher, but make sure you learn on your own, too. : )

Christianity is above all else the teachings of Jesus Christ.... above all else all teachings by Jesus the man...mortal or devine are good in nature.. be good to one another... help each other... things like that... even if you believe in something else or nothing devine.... he teaches good.... and ther is something we can all learn from being good to each other. I like you don't know where my faith lies... except that I have studied enough science to know that if someone else created everything.... I couldn't possibly know the answer.... much less know anything about why... it just is... you are here.. I am here.... we have but a precious minute milisecond in the time of everything.... but no matter what... faith is beautiful... I don't mess with anyones because more than anything.... science messed with mine. not that I am sorry for what I learned.... but before I had no question and I would have left knowledge to the rest of humanity if... it would have saved my endless questions I have now. sounds like a plea for ignorance.... but things are what they are.

Most religious people are so involved with their belief structure they can not see others perspectives, like the non-believer. I reached my belief in christianity in a Buddist way. Quiet introspection convinced me that the message of Christianity, even without historical evidence is worthwhile. The mores it contains not only work for society but they are good for me and my family.

Most Christians just don't have the faith enough to know the good arguments. They can talk the talk, but because they have never walked the walk, they have no other evidence to give than what they have been told by others. No personal experience therefor no good proof.

Faith isn't about arguments and logic and evidence. Faith is just about choosing a desirable answer and sticking with it, no matter what. Christians usually don't make good logical arguments because they are out of their element, just like you probably would be praying in front of 30 people at Christmas dinner or giving a sermon.

I know that one day I was lost, then I ask Jesus into my heart. After he came into my heart ,I was changed.I was a very different person.
I had no desire for booze, drugs, parties.I had a heart transplant. My heart was so different,it had to be new.My desire was to please God,seek to know Jesus better. But strange as it may seam,I started loving people.
I saw my husband in a whole new light,I really loved him.My daughter was my biggest blessing.
It was and is the greatest thing I have ever done. And all I did was say yes to Jesus.<><

it gets worse.. my family ends every debate (where I am wrong again)... this way 'that is what it says in the bible.. you are not aruging with me.. you are arguing with God. If you can show me in the bible where I am wrong I will believe you.' Then every bible verse I show them they have an explaination for ... with another bible verse. i think I may never see them again.. it gets really old, being wrong and sinful all the time... and my kids don't need that crap.. thinking mommy is a mislead sinner
