In the book of Genesis, the first book in the bible. And yes, Esau was a twin who's complection was red at birth. His brother was Jacob. Who's name would later be changed to Israel. They were the twin sons of Isaac and Rebekah. The set of twins in which the midwife took a scarlet thread ( no account as to the color of thread) and tied it around the wrist of the one she thought would be the first to come out but, then he drew back his hand and his brother came out first instead. Their names were Perez and Zerah. They were the twin sons of Tamar. Judah's widowed daughter-n-law. Judah was the fourth son of Jacob by Leah. Anyhow, Judah's son Er was Tamar's husband. After he died and Judah didn't keep his word that he would have her to marry his youngest son Shelah. She tricked Judah into impregnating her and bore him the twin sons.

It starts in Genesis 25:22 And the children struggled together within her... The LORD told her that she had two nations in her. Esau (red) was the firstborn & Jacob followed hanging on the Esaus foot. That is why he was named Jacob.
