Jesus. That is the point of the God in the OT sending His son to give us a chance with Him, since He is the same God of both OT and NT. He is the same God today and yesterday.

The old testament God is the same God as the NT God. From the beginning of time, God planned to send His Son into the world, to save it. Because God is a just God and cannot be in the presence of sin, and since He knew long before He even created Adam and Eve that they, and all their descendants, yes, you and I would sin, He had to prepare a sacrifice that would pay the price of sin. In God's perfect timing He sent His Son. The people in the OT had to sacrifice animals yearly to cover their sin- then at just the right time God sent the perfect spotless lamb of God cover our sins once and for all, and all we have to do is accept His free gift of grace. If you would read your OT you would see that always was just but He also shared His mercy and grace all the time. In conclusion I must say I am sorry if people who believe in this Jesus answer yours and other questions sarcastically. Jesus loves you and if we believe in that Jesus we will too.

The old testament world competely lacked God's grace, so experienced only his wrath, a state much like hell, but not an eternal one.
Jesus changed all that, by becoming a man like all of us, except for sin.
That done, Jesus permitted his unjust execution in order to destroy Satan's evil dominion.
Then Jesus became the new and sinless head of all mankind.
Now, whenever God looks at man, he sees his sinless, perfect, and triumphant son Jesus, standing there, at the head.
No sin = infinite grace.
Infinite grace = no more wrath.
Anyone who faithfully swears allegiance to Jesus, the divine man who has no sin, gets to share in the infinite grace he obtained for us, and so avoids the wrath of God.
Because Jesus is man, the grace he obtained accrues to the benefit of all mankind.
Because Jesus is God, the power and effectiveness of that grace is infinite and eternal.
This is also the reason we can faithfully recite the Lord's Prayer, and now truthfully claim Jesus' father as our own.

Jesus is the Savior prophesied about in a number of Old Testament books. He came to save the world from the pains of sin.
If you'd like references in the Old Testament, here goes: Genesis 21:12, Malachi 3:1, Jeremiah 7:14, 23:5, Isaiah 12:6, Psalm 22:7, Isaiah 49:7.
This is just a short list. There are quite a few more references.

The LORD God of the OT is the same LORD God of the NT. Jesus is the Word part of the OT God (Elohim). God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit.
And the promised Messiah was prophecied of throughout the OT and fulfilled in the NT.

Your page say's,
"About me: I have had it with religion. Things like Jesus Camp, and the idiocy of arguing evolution have driven any and all taste I had for it out of my system. Delusion promotes ignorance."
So why do you keep asking questions about God? I'm curious.
Follow up...
Good enough.
Read the second chapter of the book of Acts. Forget about the OT, forget about evolution, forget about all the loony opinions, just read that chapter! And then decide if you would be interested in finding out what God really has for YOU, including that exact experience today. There's a reason the Apostles began preaching and turning the world upside down after the Day of Pentecost. There's a reason the sick were healed by the shadow of Peters hankerchief, there's a reason the lame were healed and the blind were given sight again, by God working through those who believed in His truth and would follow and trust Him. There's a reason God said He would send "the Comforter". Because we haven't the power within ourselves. We need the power of the Holy Ghost and you can receive it just like those in the second chapter of Acts. It was not just for them back then. It is for all who have a love for the truth.
I was very much like you when I was 20. I was bitter and had no patience anymore for "religion". And then God got ahold of me one night and I found out for myself that the Spirit of God is alive and well and anyone who just wants the truth can receive it. Anyone! But it takes a love and a desire for the truth. And hope!
Read it, and read it again. And in the quiet of your room or your car or wherever you can get alone with God ask Him if it's true that you can have something so real, so tangible! You will know absolutely and undeniably that God is inside you when you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. No one will need to tell you. You won't have to repeat any little prayer. You won't have to "confess" to any man! You take it directly to God and He will honor it and give you what you have been really looking for all your life. He will! Period!

In a nutshell: the Old testament is the New Testament concealed, and the New Testament is the Old testament revealed.
Everything in the NT is the culmination of prophesy from the OT.
One cannot exist without the other. The God of the OT is the God of the NT - they are one and the same and Jesus is God incarnate in the flesh.

No one needs to save anyone from the One True God. But we do need to be saved from a life of sin. And God is the Man for the Job.

The Old Testament God is the same as the New Testament God. Christ sacrificed his life to give all a path to salvation. He offered the forgiveness path to everyone, but the Jews did not accept his position as Messiah, so they (most, not all) rejected him as the Messiah.
Jesus doesn't save all of us, unless we are willing to accept that he was and is the real Messiah. If we accept that, then God accepts us without the laws of God that the Jews attempted to keep, as a way of perfection for the salvation of God.
In a sense, Christ doesn't save any of us, for we must make the choice to believe, or not to believe; then to attempt to live in our faith, or to not. In summary, we save ourselves through Christ, and Christ accepts us if we are willing. He cannot force us.
About the "force us". If you choose to live against the rules of your parents home, and you are old enough to be responsible for your choices, then you choose to find yourself outside of your parents home, because you chose not to live by their rules. That is the same thing about God rules. You make the choice to be outside of his home, and his salvation if you choose not to accept Christ - not the other way around.
