I am always at home lately because I have winter break and my brother uses my truck for his work. My other brother thinks he is the best person in the world and that we are all blessed to have him around (at least he acts like he thinks that). He used to "pat" my butt saying that it was for good luck, like the football players. He does that with all his friends and them to him, so he thinks its normal. I would get mad and punch him in the arm...for good luck. He got the point and stopped, but now he scares me. He hides around a corner or sneaks up on me and screams at the top of his lungs. At first it wasn't so bad, but now he does it so often that I chase him and punch him in the arms and such. He continues to do that, untill he has work to do. Now I get mad if he is anywhere around me because he makes weird faces and stands there and annoys me. If I don't blow up, he will walk away, just to scare me. If that doesn't get me mad, he does other things to annoy me.

it sounds like he just wants your attention, try spending some time with him and get to know him as a person, then decide if your anger is justified or just an annoyance that can be tolerated. maybe after spending some quality time, you'll find out he really is a nice guy after all, or else maybe he's just a jerk and you should punch his lights out!

Short answer, yup. Most people would be annoyed and/or irritated. However, 2 things - the cause for this behaviour, and the other is how will you channel this anger? I have a sister who used to annoy me by talking to other members of my family very loudly whenever I was studying for school, hoping to distract me. I'd try almost the same things you did, react and when that didn't work, gave no reaction. Nothing worked, not even after my parents talked to her about the importance of my studies, etc. The cause? She felt my parents gave me more attention because I did well at school and had to act out to get my parents' attention, even if it was the wrong kind of attention. What I did? Before I started studying, I'd ask my parents to do something nice for her (and try to keep her occupied). That worked. Now, I don't know what the cause is for your brother, but hopefully you'll figure it out & come up with a way to channel your anger into something constructive for your situation.

Don't let him use your truck. Period. He has to work? Oh well, let him find his own mode of transportation.
He acts like a jerk to you because he thrives on the reaction he gets from you. Truthfully, if it were me, I'd have a can of mace handy the next time he pulled that BS with me.
And honestly, why aren't your parents stepping in regarding this? I don't see why you should continue to be harassed by him and he gets all the accolades of what a great person he is from your other brother.
Good luck to you.

this sounds like me. i have a sister who i like to slap in the butts. in my opinion, doing such things mark the closeness you have with your siblings. sometimes i would give her a scare too, and she'll find it funny; we'll have a good laugh after that. he probably thinks the same way i do. in fact, since you both are brothers, it should be acceptable to do these to one another.
if he's doing it too often, it'll be annoying i understand. or is it that you lack humour? or did he always tread on your toes on the wrong times? cos when i happen to slap the butts of my sister at the wrong time, she'll get mad at me. have a talk with him, tell him that you don't like it. as your bro, he'll understand. hope this helps :)

It sounds like he is wanting to get a reaction like he is. Try either ignoring him or laughing at him. He will see that he cant get the better of you anymore. Good Luck, I have had brothers do the same thing to me.

You have every right to be angry but as the saying goes boys will be boys and that's just the way it is. Just sounds like he has alot of growing up to do.

Stop loaning him your truck. Hitting someone in the pocketbook has always been effective.

It looks like he is trying to pick on you ask him to put a stop to it that you are tired of it.
