cus my friends computer got messed up and im not sure if it was cuz of limewire

it's suposse to be better than programs like Kazaa. However I had a friend who didn't download anything off the web - except for limwire music. She took her computer to a repairman when it started acting up and he found over 30 viruses. That being said - I still download from limewire - and have never had any problems. Just always make sure you're running your antivirus software when downloading.

Limewire itself does not download a virus to your computer but downloading things from it can open your computer up to viruses. Using the Internet period opens your computer to viruses so I suggest an anti virus software. If you download a lot of stuff from the Internet you should have one. It isn't going to protect you from everything but you serve a better chance of being protected with one than without.

you will no longer have a wager of having a scourge on limewire in case you're no longer downloading something. each and every so often different data which you acquire on limewire has viruses related on them. only set up an antivirus and you'd be secure.

Limewire itself does not give you any viruses, but be careful when downloading files, as the files (music, etc) sometimes have viruses or spyware.
You should have Norton or McAfee running or any good virus program.

Limewire itself does not have virus but the shared files that you download or upload can carry viruses and all kind of nasty malwares.

First of All...LIMEWIRE is hard spyware...it will demolish your computer system. My humble request NOT TO USE THIS SOFTWARE AT ALL.....
Better to use Bittorrent software or more beter buy a affordable CD/DVD.
