Help, The church that my fiancé and I are members of is dreadfully ugly. I was wondering is it possible to rent a church and if so how do I go about it. I don’t want to ask my preacher because I feel it might hurt his feelings because of his unpredictable health we feel that it is best that we also have someone else marry us. Does this service come available with a church rental? please help so I can start planning and stop stressing.

My niece got married in a college chapel. This one - in Stockton, California - is so pretty that it gets booked almost every weekend of the year. She wasn't a student there, just wanted to get married in a beautiful building.

Call around. Most ministers will marry people outside of their own church, within reason (Protestants don't marry Catholics and vice versa)

You could google [church rental wedding {town} {state}] Some churches advertise on their web site, because they have a good-looking building (or garden).

Tell your minister. Ministers are understanding the way blacksmiths are strong and computer programmers are nerdy - it comes with the territory when you choose that line of work.

It is HARD to do. Most churches don't want to rent out their facilities unless you're a member, and they definately won't let your paster perform the ceremony in their church.

I'm sorry, but if both you and your husband are members of this church, then it is best that you get married there. You have history there, the place means something. No one will notice what the church looks like anyway. Don't go hurting your pastor's feelings and stepping on toes just because of how your church looks.

Me and my hubby got married in a church we never went to go though a friend to see what their church is like that's what we did and all we had to do is talk to the preacher to make arrangements and it was a $25 donation the only thing that they wanted us to rent was the hall they used for reception (the rent was for clean up)we didn't rent it we had ours some where else because of the guests that wanted to drink but we used our preacher from our church so we have to rent one. I hope this helps congrats God bless you and have a long and happy life together.

I got married in a church I don't attend. The preacher said we could rent or come to some services and it would be free. Just ask

Go online and look up other churches in your area. Each site should provide you with a list of requirements to be married in their church. Usually it's about a $300 fee which includes everything from the service to the music.

I know what you are going through!! My church had two aisles and no center aisle, that was really bad!! I ran away and got married in Las Vegas at one of the chapels on the strip, but sometimes I wish i had got married in my church. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!
