There are lots of kinds of rice, more than just 5. Long-grained, medium-grained, basmati, jasmine, arborio are five standard types.

Which one to use will depend on what you are making. Some varieties are stickier and some are fluffier.

Basmati ( A flavoursome and aromatic rice).

Uncle Bens ( fat grain).

Long grain rice & Short grain rice ( there are many kinds sold under different brand names around the world)

Mochi rice ( a sweet rice, glutinous rice).

Thai Jamine rice (an aromatic rice with a strong aroma and a unique taste).

Arborio Rice (an Italian variety of rice that is commonly used in risotto dishes).

ya there are so many, but right now cn think of just 2, which in sri lanka and india we call Basmati (the long ones) and Samba

all i kno n i ever ate = black rice,red rice, several kinds of white rice in indonesia
