do you think i could find an older (not too much older, the body style before the present one) dodge truck for around $8,000 or less? I'd like a manual transmission too....i know it would be a 12 valve, but that's fine with me. do you think i could find a decent one for that price?

Why the heck are you here? I'm planning on buying one myself when I get back to the States.

Look at the auto sales section in Yahoo, look on ebay, and check out edmunds.com for used car pricing and evaluations.

They changed the body style in 1994, that means you want a truck that is now 13 model years or older. Dodges with the Cummins engines were made and bought for work and in 13 years they saw a lot of it. The engines may still be good, but the running gear will be pretty well used up. Google it, look for Dodge diesels for sale and see what you can find.

Sure you can find a pre-1993 for that amount. but .why would you? Those years had problems with the paint not sticking, frames cracking, and a whole mess of problems. 1995-1998 are a better value and still can be found in the 8k area
