Well, if you stop and think about it, all humanity has never had to believe in one god, just as all humanity has never had to consist on a single diet.
If such a requirement were instigated, it would be unenforceable. People can still 'lie' about what they believe in, or even believe in things when they are a convienence, whether or not they follow the tenent of their beliefs. How many 'followers' of a religion actually follow its tenents, really follow them, and not just the ones they like? Most likely answer is a extremely small percentage.
A true 'follower' does not worry about the company they keep. If they follow their traditions, and believe in them, by what harm does it incur to be around the beliefs of others? One can be 'harmed', but one can be harmed regardless of whatever one believes, so that is no obstacle to belief. I can be killed whether or not I believe in God, Allah, Yahweh, Rama-lama-ding-dong or Snuffle-Puff. To be a follower/believer is to go beyond fear. If one cannot go beyond fear, then fear is what one trully 'follows'.

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.
And the idolaters say, 'If Allah had so willed, we should not have worshipped anything beside Him, neither we nor our fathers, nor should we have forbidden anything without command from Him.' So did those who opposed the truth before them. Are the Messengers responsible for anything except the plain delivery of the Message?
As to those who believe, and the Jews and the Sabians, and the Christians, and the Magians and the idolaters; verily, Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection. Surely, Allah watches over all things.

i believe that all people should believe in the only True & Living God, because He created us, but i realize this is merely my opinion/faith...i don't, however, associate with religion-
religion is man-made, it is a bunch of rules & rituals...
i worship God in my own way and feel that others should as well, He is a creative God and He created each of us as individuals...
having said that, i don't think that there is necessarily anything wrong with religion if it helps others to come to know Christ, but i think one should be very cautious when "going along with the group"...
btw-what is a wiccan?

Wiccans aren't too bright I take it. You really think EVERYONE in the ENTIRE WORLD thinks the same?
Nothing like generalizing the masses.
Was that toooooo nasty? Sorry I'm just getting burned out on all the mindless clutter that goes on here.

I'll keep it short, serious, and pithy.
If God gave us 100 ways to get to Heaven, we'd whine and cry for 101.
God made it simple. One way, one path, one answer: Jesus Christ.

People dont have to believe in one god.We were all given the gift of free will,to chose for ourselves.
However, there is only one True God,whose name is Jehovah. He is Almighty and the Creator of all things.Whether people choose to worship Jehovah is up to them.
However the Bible does teach that there are two roads we can go by;one leads to destruction and many are following it and one leads to everlasting life and few are following it.The choice is ours.
