Essentially gingivitis is an insidious disease. A variety of factors such as mechanical, chemical or physiological traumas are responsible for the development of this disease. Almost 98% of the population has either clinical or sub-clinical gingivitis. The most commonly first noticeable sign of gingivitis is a red or bloody toothbrush. Since the disease is so painless, most people will tend to ignore its presence until it is advanced to a more serious illness.

Not brushing often and properly. You also must floss daily.
