I just answered a question about why can't all the christians jews and muslims get along because we all believe in the ONE God. Very good point that, seeing as believing in God is fundamentally what religion should be about. Someone said that God teaches that we should all live in peace alongside one another and some religious person stuck the thumbs down to every single answer agreeing with him. They went on about only one faith can be correct, I can't get along with any muslim who wants me to cut my clitoris off etc etc. Surely any holy book teaches you to love thy neighbour, and to live in peace, so why the thumbs down!! religion just makes people argue about everything and they are determined to be right no matter what, no matter how much hate they come out with for another religion. So hipocritical! what's wrong with trying to be a good person, with compassion and just to believe in God, no religion, we should all be the same.

I'm not saying you are all like that, but the people out there who are should understand how 'shallow' they are being. You don't have to be religious to do good work and help people, you have to be a good person, you don't NEED the religious bit.

Nope you don't have to agree, but seeing another religious group as inferior to your own brings nothing but trouble.

Religion can be good, not everyone is the same, but surely some people should at least try to understand different faiths, not just toss what they believe out of the window. I see so many people being nasty on here then sayong they are religious, I'm not doing this to make all the decent religious people feel that they are in the wrong. Sorry if I have caused any offense x

I know that conflict will never stop, I know that what I am saying may just be fantasy to a lot of you. It doesn't matter if we believe in 2 seperate God's, what is the point in religion, I thought the point was to BE A GOOD PERSON, so why is everybody disagreeing with this? I thought the point was to be the best person you could be and you will be let into heaven, so why does everyone quabble about oh they have that god, we frown upon that god. Oh they do this and that and we so this and that. If you just thought about the basic message in the Bible then it would be, to love one another and BE A GOOD PERSON! Stop taking every single little word to heart, it is full of contradictions, if you do on thing, you will go against another thing, you'll end up going round in circles worrying about the fine detail. Anybody who causes a war in the name of God or religion, really isn't truely religious and is totally going against Gods word.

God is the uniter of mankind.
the devil is the divider.
any time u see religious strife this is almost certainly the work
of the devil. people who are filled with evil to kill innocent women and children are not led by God.
most obvious thing in the world.
I believe in a pure or true religion and i know i am right, without being arrogant about it.

God alone holds the key to His kingdom.
He is the ONLY judge of who is right and who is wrong on this planet.
when i see religions arguing about who is right, it makes me sad bcos they are all wrong. they might have a point on certain issues though.
If I don't want someone in MY house because I don't like them for what they do, I will either not open the door, or ask them to leave.

the difference is that they could break into mine.
u cannot bludgeon ur way into heaven.

I believe in one prize
and that there is only One who can give it.

I also believe there is only One who can give all the answers.
the problems caused in and between religions are that people spend too much time listening to their own arguments and not enough time listening to the truth.

punch line. if u r accepted u r in
if u r not, then u r out.

i hope with all my heart that one day u too will be accepted.

I totally agree with you st4rdust3r!!!! Why cant everyone get on and agree to disagree? I know that religion is an emotive subject, but it can be compared to the analogy of the different football teams we support. Does it matter that we support different teams? We are all the same, we are humans. We have red blood, white bones, and we all need to use the toilet! People should try to understand our different beliefs. Unfortunately, there will always be the fanatics who go to extremes. An element of my belief is in Karl Marx's quote: Religion is opium of the masses. Religion has been the basis for many wars, this is sacrilege and so hypocritical. Im afraid....st4rdust3r, your wonderful dream of people being good, compassionate; and just to believe in God, with no religion, where we would all be the same, is a great ethos, unfortunately it is utopian!

Religions are not all the same. Just consider, Some believe in God/Jesus. Some believe in Mohammad/Allah. Some are Buddhists, etc. etc. They all have VERY different beliefs. Some people even pray to the sun or moon. What kind of religion is that?? Some Christian denominations have different beliefs but the major denominations are fairly close in most of what they believe. The 9/11 hijacker's were of the strict belief that their god was going to honor them in a big way for killing Americans For doing what they did, they would in effect, earn their way to whatever it is they think of as their heaven. They, evidently, felt they were going to be rewarded in a major way and supposedly get a bunch of women and live it up forever. Christianity teaches NO such thing.

You should know a few things. First, religion is not the work of the devil, although Satan prefers to be where the religious people are, and delights in bringing out hatred and strife in people. It does not have to be that way. I am very devout in my beliefs, and one of them is that when someone claims to be a Christian, and they are spreading doctrine that you know is wrong, it is your duty to tell that person where they are erring. Admonishing a fellow Christian out of love to bring them into the light of the truth is not judging, nor is it wrong! You claim that we all believe in the one God. I disagree. The living God had one begotten son, Jesus Christ. Muslims claim that it is not so, but that Jesus was merely a prophet. Any religion that does not teach the love, mercy and salvation of Jesus Christ is a false religion. That includes religions that deny that Jesus was the Son of God. Whether they know it or not, Allah is NOT God. The name Allah was derived from the name Baal. Remember the evil king Ahab, and his evil queen Jezebel? They led Israel into Baal worship, and were severely punished by God for it. So shall it be for them. You do not deny God's Son. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. So you see, we do not all believe in the one God. Some serve other gods, knowingly or not. Therein lies the controversy, because they will not admit to being wrong. If you disagree, I am sorry, but that is my belief. May the love and peace of Jesus Christ be with you.

Most people believe in God. Some believe in a man that says they are God. Some think that God is wood; metal; water; sky; and rock. These people put their faith in something, but neglect the True God that created everything. YHVH, the I AM.

You write that Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in the One true God. You are very wrong in this. A Muslims believes in a God they call Allah which is not the same God that the Jews believe in. As for Christians, there belief is in the Son of God, Jesus Christ who in fact is the Word of God.

I hold the fact that religion is a tool that Satan uses to confound the people of this Earth and mislead them into falling into his trap that he will shortly release on us.

To me, if I wanted to understand the truth in the matter. I would do my homework. I would gather all the Scriptures that God has faithfully place in the World for us to glean the true Manna from.

We are at the crossroads in this life today. People need to make a stand and make a stand real soon. Remember that 6 comes before 7. Wait for seven. It is going to be difficult but we have the promise from God that we can endure it and receive a crown for our diligence.><>

What's wrong with trying to be a good person ?

- What's wrong with burying your head in the sand ? If you run away from reality and refuse to face true facts then you are burying your head in the sand.

It won't help you in the end, and you do look ridiculous. Forgive me, but your head is full of sand already.

If religion is really the work of the Devil then making up your own and yet another religion is to further his work, isn't it?

You need revelation from God. That is the remedy and antidote.

The problem is the words of God have been written by man, who is full of greed, and has this need for power, God's words are there but its how man reads the words, that's why so many deaths have been in the name of God, nothing to do with God, man yes God no, the control over women is mans way not God's, to force people to wear certain clothes, or eat at certain times, you must pray so many times, who must hand over so much of your money, all these things are what man want, not God, God wants us to love one another, he wants peace, and for us to share all we know, but because of mans greed this is a long way off.
And of course you are right there is only one God, he has many names, but only one, many will say there is no such thing as God, yet they cannot proof it, and they spend a lot of there time on here talking about him?

Have a nice day,
Love & Peace

Jesus had the right answer. By there fruits you will know them, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. he is not wrong. unfortunately the father of lies is all ways out to make trouble and we being sinners listen to him far to often. so until he comes back, expect moor of the same.

I say seem on the fruit of being a pentacostal, meaning what comes from worshipping God in that way. Do you experience you have become an more suitable individual, greater total and satisfied? Do you think of God likes it as quickly as we dance, or could want us to sit down down very nonetheless and act "holy"? They talk of God on your church, genuine? nicely Jesus says interior the Bible that a companion and youngsters divided against itself can no longer prosper. in case you're saying you're worshipping God interior the provider, yet in reality worshipping the devil, then pentacostal church homes will fall. final time I looked, a lot of those church homes are thriving and function been for hundreds of years. Their outreach to their communities and the undesirable is loads of the situations a great part of the church. you're making the determination for your self!

Religion is a tool, just like any other. And, like any tool, it can be used against the wishes and/or intents of its purpose. Even Jesus said that not all his followers were simply those labeled as such. The parable of the Good Samaritan was meant to convey not the fundamental 'goodness' of religious tradition but a way to measure goodness by deed, not by affiliation.

So, religion can be used by the 'devil' to do his work, or be used for 'evil' purposes. But categorically tossing it out the window is just as bad as saying everything done under its banner is all 'good'. 'Good' and 'evil' are measured on a case-by-case basis; anything else only invites error and prejudice and/or judgement.
