Well, blessings on you and I hope all goes well.
Making God happy wouldn't be any different for you than anyone else.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind."
"Love Your neighbor as yourself."
You have indirectly hit on what I am going to preach about in a couple of sundays.
The Story of the Good Samaritan. (Luke Chap 10)
The parable tells us how to follow the nature and spirit of Christ by giving of ourselves in God's Love, even with people we don't even know personally. Regardless of skin color or race.
Hope that helps you some

Go into http://www.biblegateway.org and take a look at the Bible verses on there about money.
You will see that the LOVE of money is what is evil, not that money in itself is evil.
So, if you would like to make God happy when you are rich, make sure you are giving money to God in terms of tithing. Now tithing can be either the church or a charity or giving to a person who has a real need. If you use this money to bless others instead of just to make yourself rich, you will please God.
There is a story in the New Testament that a rich man came to Jesus and asked what he had to do from Mark chapter 10:
17As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"
18"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 19You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'[d]"
20"Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."
21Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
22At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.
23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"
What this story is about is that this man put the love of money before God and God was asking him to show that money was not as important to him as his love for God.
So, if you want to make God happy when you are rich, make sure that the money does not become more important than others.

The same way when you are poor. Follow Him (Jesus). God has been known to bless believers with riches (Solomon for example). The risk in becoming rich is that the money may corrupt you, distract you and maybe even cause you to love it more than Him. Stay true to God and keep a watchful eye on where you heart is. If it is focused on Jesus, you're on solid ground. Take care and God Bless.

Its not a sin to be rich, but Jesus did say that it was harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God than to put a camel through the eye of a needle. (my paraphrase)
What is being said was that a rich man often holds his riches above all else....even over his relationship to the Almighty.
If you become rich, I hope you keep your perspective on things.

don't let your money get in the way of your relationship with God. Give God glory and thanks for every good thing that comes your way. Never love, need, or appreciate your money more than you do God's presence in your life. Also, as long as you give what he says give and when he says give you will always always have a huge amount to give. God will make you like a distribution center , you'll have so much more than you ever dreamed.

If you are living the life of a Christian and not just taking the name of a Christian, do what you do now. Live a Christian life. Help others less fortunate than yourself. Don't become materialistic.

For one thing, you can use your wealth to do good. Lots of rich people do that.

Just don't let the wealth get to your head! Remember, money is only temporary, God is permanent! Like Jesus said (or whoever), you can't serve to masters, you can only serve one!
