I am a Christian and I believe animals have souls. People live in a body, have a soul and are a spirit. Animals live in a body and have a soul. It is our spirit that sets us apart from animals. Part of our soul is our emotions, and animals have them too. A tree doesn't have a soul, as it it alive but does not think, have emotions or feelings.
JMO...and I just LOVE the geralizations I see on here..LOL..makes me laugh!

to answer you question: the basic components of life from the one celled creature to the complexities of mammals would be biological, chemical and electrical. The dramatic difference is that humans have souls because God put them in us.

that is not true. christians believe that every human has a soul, it doesnt matter if they're gay or straight, male or female, they were made in god image so they have souls. sin has come into the lives of humans to the point that we hardley resemble god anymore, but jesus can fix all of that. animals dont have souls, meaning they dont have the ability to accept or reject the Lord, they dont know the difference between right and wrong, ect. they do however, have instincts, and god made them too and loves them more than we can imagine. i would love to know where you got the information that you printed in your question- looking forward to hearing that......
