I just picked up a new puppy this evening, and i noticed his nose is a little dry. Should i be worried? What would the reason be, and how should I address it?

To comment on the first response, yes I did inquire about shipping a puppy, and after reading the feedback and thinking about it more, i decided to go with a local breeder. I do not think his nose looked at all abnormal until just a little while ago, therefore i did not ask the breeder. I am not comfortable calling her at this hour, and thought i could turn here for some quick feedback.

Hey there! If I were you I would not be worried! I graduated from vet tech school last year and have worked for a vet for 4 years. If I learned anything over the last several years, it is to NOT judge your dogs health by his nose! Some dogs noses are wet,dry,cold,hot.. it wont judge if the animal has a temperature or if its dehydrated. If the pup is eating well, drinking well, playing, urinating, defecating, then you are in perfect shape. Of course, because it is a new puppy, you should get a check up just to make sure his health is where it should be.. but please dont rush to the vet over his nose if the pup is feeling good. Buy a cheap rectal thermometer to check his temp and to check for hydration, make sure his gums are nice and pink and when you pinch his skin it immediatley goes back to place rather than stays in the "pinched" position! Have fun with your new pup! Theyre alot of fun

There are a few real keys to dog training, whether you are trying to train your dog to come when called, sit, stop barking or any other behavior. Understanding their importance is critical to achieving rapid results that are long lasting and help develop the bond between you and your dog. Read more here https://biturl.im/aU7Yj
The first is simple; you must win your dogs mind. If you don't achieve this first then you will be struggling the all the way. When I talk about winning your dogs mind what I really mean is that your dog looks to you for all the decisions. Before you do anything else watch one of the amazing video sites that show you the 5 Golden rules to establishing yourself as the pack leader. If you aren't putting these in place then you are setting yourself up to fail. Just at the crucial point where you really want your dog to listen they will go and do their own thing. For sure your dog may play ball occasionally or even most of the time, you may even have a dog that is obedient 99% of the time, however if you want a dog who always listens to you and does as you ask then you need to win your dogs mind.
The second key to success is to motivate your dog. It is really important that you discover what it is that your dog enjoys both in terms of exercise and play but also in terms of a reward. If you can make the experience enjoyable then you will both achieve more and look forward to training.
Some dogs love to fetch, others love agility, and other dogs simply love obedience training, or swimming out into water and retrieve. At least to start with find out what your dogs love is and help them develop this, what I am saying is work with your dog. The other point to recognize is to make training enjoyable reward your dog.

Some of the brachycephalic (pug nosed) breeds like boxers do get dry noses, it is fairly common and not a problem. My French Bulldog is the same way and my vet told me to put a little bit of water on the nose and then a small amount of vitamin e oil. It will take a few days to get to looking better, but it will help a lot.

If your breeder was a responsible breeder they would answer every little question. You wrote not to long ago about shipping a dog. How did you get one so fast from a responsible breeder?
Go to the vet for a first check so that if anything is wrong you can immediately notify the breeder.
