Actually, I believe that the word for wife and woman are the same, at least in the NT. Of course, that might just be a cultural thing rather than religious.

WIFE

A man's marriage partner. After God created Adam, He declared, "It is not good that man should live alone" (Gen 2:18). Then He created woman and united the couple and they became "one flesh" (Gen 2:24). The wife is to honor her husband (Eph 5:22), and the husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the church (Eph 5:25-33).
