a doctor's visit is expensive. if the doctor does prescribe penicillin or one of its relatives, he will write a prescription for tablets or capsules, which you will have to take for 7-10 days.
when i was a kid (40+ years ago) the doctor would give you one shot in the butt. a few days later you were cured.
i realize that various bacterium require certain antibiotics to kill them, but few doctors actually swab your throat and grow and identify the particular bacteria that is infecting you. they just take a guess as to which is infecting you.
why can't i take the guess, buy the penicillin at the local feed store and save some money?
i don't think the oral meds work as well as the injectable ones, but most health insurance plans won't pay for a shot.
any comments?

Yep, it works. You need to be careful to monitor exactly how many mg of Penicillin you get however, and if you don't know exactly what you're doing you better get medical help.

Hi I have been eating deli ham throughout my pregnancy and I am 23 weeks it has not harmed me as I only have it ow and then also I am picky about where I buy it from. The reason you are advised not to eat deli ham, is because of the bacteria that can grow on it, this can happen if it is not kept at the right temperature. Also deli ham is handled alot and although some wear gloves it doesn't necessarily protect the meat especially if that person has touched other surfaces which could be infected. It is very easy to pass bacteria onto food and once it has been touched with bacteria it will spread. If you are going to eat it, be picky about where you buy from like a local butcher and if your not sure ask about where it has been kept how it has been handled etc.

I have no idea, but reason and logic tells me that this would not be a good idea.
