I have a tingling pain on the palm of my hand that feels it is some kind of a pinched nerve. It is right where my hand is when using a mouse, which I use frequently during the day. I also use a stapler frequently, and that might be the cause as well. Does anyone know the name for this or what it is?

It is in the wide range of nerve injuries but I don't think it is carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). CTS typically affects the thumb and the index and middle finger. Any tingling/numbness of the pinky and ring finger would be most likely ulnar nerve compression. The area that you are describing sounds suspiciously like compartment syndrome but because it is quite a rare condition, I am almost certain that it is something more simple than that. Try alternating hands for mousing and stapling and hopefully that will alleviate your symptoms.

Sounds like it could be carpal tunnel sydrome. It is a condition where the nerves and tendons that run through your wrist have increased pressure causing tingling, numbness, or pain. The first symptom is often tingling in the palm, and many people will start to have shooting pains up the arm. It is a progressive condition, so you may want to talk to your doctor. He may want for you to wear a brace when you are using the computer or any other activity that might aggravate the problem. Hope that helps!

hmmm..could be carpal tunnel. i have carpal tunnel and its a pain in my wrist more so than my palm, but my palm does get a really achy pain in it sometimes when my carpal tunnel is really flaring up. i get a tingly sensation in my wrist that radiates down my fingers, and my fingers go numb. also bending the wrist hurts if bent the wrong way...but thats not exactly what you are describing, but it can be different for some people...i'd say go to a doctor.
