I believe, and its pretty much documented, that we all share the same one God. Don't you all think its silly that we all fight over Him like jealous siblings? I be He would prefer if we all got along, even just for His sake dont you?

I'm sorry but we DO NOT all share the same God. Jews and Christians share the same God to SOME EXTENT. That is technically the Jewish God is the Christian God. However, Jews do not believe that the Messiah is God's son and consequently they deny the Holy Trinity! Christians believe that The Holy Trinity has existed since infinity, and that God The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost (three persons, ONE God) is in fact the God the Jews worshipped without knowing.

Muslims also deny the Holy Trinity, and they specifically hold Christians heathens for this aspect of faith. Christians believe that God is ONE. He is Father, Son and Holy Ghost, all as one God. It is a mystery of faith and that's its cannot be fully understood.

Christians maintain that God has different qualities from Allah (Muslim god) and so the two cannot be the same. However, yes it is true that the Muslim God is based on the Christian God- though he is a much simpler version, easier for the people of the time to understand. You see at that time due to heresies and wrong teachings, people began to think that Christians believed in three gods. When Muhammed created the concept of Allah, it caught on like wild fire because people could relate to that idea more, since they had always thought there was one god only. In fact, there is only one God as explained above, but they were mislead people.

I do agree totally on the fact that we all should get along together, but hat doesn’t necessarily mean making our religions all one. We do not need a big merge, or even share same ideas. The problem now is that the Arab world still has religion (Islam) as the civil Law. This is what’s causing all the trouble. With Islam as the state law, there can be no true democracy, because almost any movement to develop and correlate with others would be countered by religion. For example religion will allow the killing of converts out of Islam, and yet protects converts into it! Religion will always see criticism of the faith as unacceptable. Religion will always suppress free speech and media. Religion will always give a sacred position to the Monarch, because he is a descendant of the Prophet (for example in one Arabic country) and therefore give him full authority over the country (parliament is just an act in front of the west. What he doesn’t like he doesn’t allow.) Religion will never allow a non-Muslim to hold a certain office(s). Therefore, that is the problem. Unless religion is separated TOTALLY from state in the Arab and Muslim World, and unless these countries become as Europe has, secular, they will never rise to the level of the civilized world, and therefore, will never be able to equally communicate, and relate. And without self satisfying communications, and the sense of equity, Arabs will always feel victimized and therefore cause so much trouble.

Yes you are right He does prefer we get along. Catholics and Protestants are Christians but Jews and Muslims are not as they do not worship Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:6 "I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. NO ONE CAN COME TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME." From His own words, the only way to God is by excepting Jesus Christ as our Saviour. In case you are worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one way to God, we should be saying "Thank you God, for providing a sure way to you." He came to earth to become the ultimate sacrifice and die for our sins, so that we can come into the presence of God and have a personal relationship with Him. The Jews still live by the old ways, and the Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, if that is the case then why don't they listen to what Jesus said and follow Him, by converting to Christianity and become truly saved. God Bless us All!

Yes, in one way you are right...we do worship/share the same God.....it's even crazy that we agree that God said Abraham will be the Father of many...God said to Abraham, in Genesis, chapter 26: 4

"look up to the sky and count the stars if you can, this will be the number of your descendants and I will bless all the nations of the earth through you"

I think all the major religions believe this, I'm sure I'll be told if I'm wrong...
We are human with human failings. It would be good if we could focus on the things we have in common, but there is the battle between good and evil, this is really what's happening, it's a spiritual battle, not a flesh and blood battle....this is why we will never agree...

I would like to add, one poster said the Jewish nation don't believe in Jesus, i can absolutely tell you a huge amount do, they are called to some "Messianic"

Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, Christians.will never get along with each other as they all believe that there faith is the true faith and all the rest are wrong
but what makes things worse is the fact that they are willing to kill to prove they are right
this is all madness as none can really prove that god exists so they have to force there beliefs upon others who dont believe
talking to god is prayer when he answers back thats called
schizophrenia .

Well what else can you say? very well put. Just think about what God wants, not what all of you want.

The 1st poster just goes to show, he says-'we should all live together in peace' and some religious nut put a thumbs down, surely that is what the Bible or any other holy book states, so why put the thumbs down!!! It just shows you up for what you are, would rather be right than a good catholic, protestant, Jew, Muslim ect.

3 thumbs down now on the 1st post! dear me! surely what he said is what you should believe, what is the point of your religion if you don't even believe in the first posters message! shame on you all, you can't even see what you are eve n doing. Please tell me why you are religious, is it becaues you jsut want to make it to heaven, then maybe throw a bolt of lightening at a muslim?

I m a christian (a gentile too) The Jews and I have the same God but they have rejected him and until they repent, they will in time, they will reject me as they reject my God who is the God of their fathers. As for the Muslims, Jew's,Mormons,Catholics (I was a Catholic), all worship different gods than I do. My God is the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are One God, I am saved by the grace of my God and his salvation has already saved me and I can not be lost and this statement is not presumptuous because he has given me eternal life and If a man is once saved he can not lose that salvation. If you believe what I just said and trust in the mercy of God we might have the same God. Otherwise we do not other than in the semantic sense.
Post-Modernism is what's left when a people no longer believes in anything.
Oil and water don't mix and diametrically apposing points of view can't not all be true at the same time.
What you are teaching is pure irrationality that you might tickle the ears of those that refuse to be saved.
All that call upon him in truth he will here.
For he said Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) shall be saved.

The problem is some people believe we are supposed to spread the word at the end of a sword. Others use religion as a front for a land grab, and still others are threatened by anyone who is not a part of their group and feell the need to try and control them. It is sad none the less. Especially in light of Jesus saying love another and people are killing each other supposedly in his name.

I agree with your point. Religion focuses so much on the history of God, Jesus, Allah...but in the end the idea is a greater figure, a creator, a guide. Personally, my impression of this greater figure is one which wants to see the world progress and live life according to an acceptable moral code. I can't imagine this great figure enjoying us killing each other. I can't imagine anyone worth worshipping that would be so obsessed with being worshipped to wish death upon those that don't comply or understand. On the other hand, there are alot of people out there who don't see it this way. It is difficult to see across other cultures and religions when both have been imprinted with his own. I would like to know, honestly, what people are thinking, feeling, accomplishing from the perspective of one who sees things from the opposing side.

God says get along with your neighbor "if it be possible" -
unfortunately, its not always possible. If someone insults your Heavenly Father, hopefully you are enough of a loving child to correct that person.
But, as far as on this forum, yes, I quess you're right - I mean, alot of people just say things to get under a person's skin - you know, just to get a rise out of them.
I have no intention of fighting with anyone - if someone says that God is a myth, and they are happy without Him, and don't need Him, etc etc. I just tell them, well, looks like you've made up your mind - the choice is yours, even God wants you to have that choice, have a good trip, buddy. Thats it. If someone doesn't want to be saved, My time is better spent with someone who does.

Well, if I were your God (which I'm not) then that's certainly what I would prefer.

But sadly people like Armygal_20112 have got 'the truth' so we've all got to go to hell because she won't rest until she's proved right or dead.

What hope for the rest of us when there are still 'True' believers like that out there?
