how can system software be regarded as a heart of computer system?

System software (Windows) is what operates everything on the PC. Without it, you can do nothing. Just as the heart pumps blood and oxygen to the body, your operating system accepts your programs and added hardware (printer) commands and runs them.

No. The heart of your computer is the BIOS. Not your operating system's system software is the heart. A computer can work without an operating system but it can't run without BIOS. BIOS is a MS-DOS "program" that controls everything in your computer. If a virus enters in your BIOS you Will no more be able to do something with the computer. The BIOS is the heart of the computer. Sorry, I'm Romanian and I can't explain you what BIOS means.
