Sheol meets the "conditions" listed for where Christ Jesus was. Just look it up on Wikipedia or anywhere else.
Sheol (שאול) is the Hebrew language word denoting the "abode of the dead"; the "underworld", "the common grave of mankind" or "pit". It is also transliterated Sheh-ole, in Strong's Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries and Strong's Concordances. In the Hebrew Bible it is portrayed as a comfortless place beneath the earth, beyond gates, where both the bad and the good, slave and king, pious and wicked must go after death to sleep in silence and oblivion in the dust. In some sources, for example in Deuteronomy 32:22, Sheol seems to be synonymous with the "depths of the earth". Sheol is the common destination of both the righteous and the unrighteous dead; the righteous Job sees it as his destination (Job 3).

Prophecy never said Christ would be alive like Jonah it said like Jonah was in the belly of a big fish for 3 days likewise Christ would be in the grave three days.
Matthew 12:39-41
39. He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.
40. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

if you're looking for a one hundred% literal fulfillment in words of actual sort of days (computed into hours) then no human being can provide an evidence. once you've a morning resurrection and an early evening/late afternoon lack of life this is not achievable to have seventy 2 hours (3 days and three nights). you spot both you'll finally end up with too many or too few days and nights. to boot no count number what you do, to attempt to make it fit, you should twist the textual content someplace. in case you push it lower back to Thursday both you ignore concerning the "day earlier the Sabbath" or you creatively redefine what the Sabbath is to that end. i have considered both. in case you stick the a strict examining of the textual content itself (pastime texts), then you truthfully have a Friday crucifixion, Friday afternoon lack of life, and Sunday morning resurrection. the really rationalization that makes considering is that the strain change into not the exactness of the kind of days and nights. i imagine it truly is agreed on besides; all of us (except those who use this as an chance to assert, "See the Bible can't be depended on) has to have parts of days and/or nights (and in no way excellent hours) to make it artwork with Jonah's prophecy. So why not take Jonah's prophecy extra oftentimes and the emphasis that Jesus change into buried contained in the earth merely as Jonah change into contained in the whale (some argue that Jonah change into in sheol, the grave, contained in the whale). The Apostle's Creed says Jesus descended into hell. The NT passage is depending in an OT quote/allusion, and the Heb be conscious is sheol) yeah, i understand, I lost all of us in this rationalization.

The prophecy did not state the condition of life or death, only the duration of time.
"For as Jonas was 3 days and 3 nights in the sea creature's belly, so shall the Son of man be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth" (Matthew 12:40).

Jonah was in the "belly of the fish" as Christ was in the grave. Christ arose from the grave as Jonah had come from the belly of the fish. You need to be able to ReAd a little bit to understand this. Have a great evening. I will see you at services this Lord's Day!

What Bible are you reading?
The Christian Bible says the sign of the prophet Jonah was that as Jonah was three days and three nights in the stomach of the great fish so also the Son would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. His Body lay in the grave. dead and buried. BUT He went and preached to the people in Hades (in Paradise and in "torments").,

Do you believe what happened to Jonah?
Do you believe that Jesus had died and resurrected?
If you do, why are you asking whether it was fulfilled prophesy? If you don't, why even ask???

The Hebrews measured days and times much differently than we do today. You can't go off of how we measure time.
