There are different types of anemia. Iron deficiency can cause anemia, but B12 deficiency can also cause anemia, and so can folate (found in lettuce) deficiency.
Ask your doctor exactly what type of anemia you have, or call the lab and get another copy of your lab test. It would be even better if you could get your doctor to tell what to do about your anemia.
Taking iron if you have a B-12 or folate defeciency will not fix your anemia. Furthermore, the anemia could be the sign of somethine else. If your stomach or intestines are not absorbing minerals and vitamins properly, (like iron or B-12) you should find a doctor who will figure out why.
Intestinal parasites can cause anemia, as can some cancers, so find out why you are anemic!

An iron suppliment is no different that a vitamine. I too had anemia and took prescribe iron pills for about 6 years - no ill effects at all. After my benefits ran out and my work no longer paid for it the pharmasist told me to take a good vitatmine with high iron count as it is the same thing.
You are making a big deal out of nothing at all. There is nothing harmful to it.

One of the best things you can do is listen to your doctor. If you do not want to take a pure iron supplement, ask for other ways to add iron into your diet. You can do simple things like cook in cast iron as well as adding more iron-rich foods.

I'm a nurse. You can buy any OTC iron pills. Also make sure you take one a day and in the morning (they have a tendency to give you a belly ache if not taken on an empty stomach). Breathe you are fine I take them too for the same thing. Take care.

go to a local healthfood store and begin by buying liquid chlorphyl (they have it in flavors) follow the directions on the bottle and when you do begin iron supplements your body will actually be able to assimilate the iron instead of simply passing it through your body. chloryphyl is to iron like electrolytes is to water for the human body. don't be afraid of iron, your body needs it. talk with your doctor, a nutritionist and/or the health person in the shop (the one who knows what they are talking about)

Hi Fiat
Here are some ideas to help heal your condition. To get your iron eat more dark green vegetables (instead of a pill that doesnt have much nutritional value and doesnt get absorbed in the blood system).
Cause
Dizziness is usually caused by a sudden drop of blood pressure in the brain as a result of standing up too quickly (postural hypotension), fatigue, stress, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), temporary blockage of blood to the brain as in a transient ischemic attack, low blood oxygenation (anemia), low blood iron, and/or certain drugs.
Lightheadedness, giddiness, and fear of losing one`s balance may be a sign of depression or anxiety.
Some cases of dizziness can also be due to mercury poisoning from dental amalgams. If you have such fillings in your teeth, consider having them replaced by a holistic dentist trained in their proper removal (see Holistic Dentistry).
If dizziness is caused by standing after sitting or lying down, this can be an indication of adrenal exhaustion. The individual should take action to restore adrenal health by stopping the use of stimulants (caffeine, tobacco, alcohol) and via rest and normalization of lifestyle and nutritional balance.
Caution: Severe or prolonged dizziness needs to be evaluated by health professional and may require blood tests.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Natural Cures
Diet: Eat an organic, whole foods diet. If you are hypoglycemic (suffering from low blood sugar), eat smaller meals throughout the day and eliminate your intake of refined sugars, caffeinated beverages, and alcohol. If you are anemic, consume more chicken, dark green vegetables, and raw seeds.
Flower Essences: Take Rescue Remedy® for accompanying stress.
Herbs: Ginger and ginkgo leaf extract can be very helpful.
Homeopathy: Gelsemium, Phosphorus, Cocculus, Convallaria, and Granatum can help address underlying causes of dizziness.
Nutritional Supplementation: Vitamin B complex, niacin (vitamin B3), vitamin E, and iron (in cases of dizziness related to anemia) are helpful supplements for preventing and minimizing the effects of dizziness.
For dizziness related to adrenal exhaustion, also include vitamin C (3-5 grams daily), vitamin B5 (500-1000 mg daily), and adrenal glandulars as part of your daily supplement program.
What to do: At the first signs of an attack of dizziness, take a few deep breaths and sit down to rest. When you feel dizzy upon standing it helps if you can immediately squat down or cross your legs (strongly pressing them against each other), as this forces circulation back up from the lower body/limbs to the trunk and head.
Alternative Professional Care
If your symptoms persist despite the above measures, seek the help of a qualified health professional. The following professional care therapies have all been shown to be useful for treating and relieving the symptoms of dizziness: Acupuncture, Acupressure, Bodywork (Alexander technique, massage, shiatsu), Chiropractic, Craniosacral Therapy, Detoxification Therapy, Environmental Medicine, Guided Imagery, Holistic Dentistry, Hypnotherapy, Magnetic Field Therapy, Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy, Naturopathic Medicine, Osteopathy, Reflexology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Best of health to you

first, you don't listen to your friend. you listen to your doctor. secondly, if you want to know the values - you request the doctor notes of that visit. you don't need to pay for yet another blood test to be done.
