Yes it is true that chocolate does not give you pimples. Probably where that started is that it is proven that a poor diet does not help in keeping your skin healthy. If your eating a lot of chocolate, candy and other empty calories your not getting the proper nutrition. Stress , lack of sleep and poor grooming habits also help contribute to poor skin conditions.

I would have to say it is true. When I was a teenager (and even now) I had really bad acne. I tried staying away from chocolate but it did not help. I still broke out. My doctor told me it is a myth about certain foods causing pimples, unless you are allergic to them and then you get a rash, not pimples. I would have to say the doctor was right on that one.
Hormones, which can cause oily skin, and not washing properly are the two main causes of pimples.

Actually, : ) part of it has to do with how oily your skin is, and whether the chocolate you're eating has a high sugar content. That is aggravating your condition. For hygiene purposes, I recommend washing your face regularly/whenever they feel oily-regardless of whether you have eaten chocolates or not.
In fact, chocolate is regarded as a HEALTH food. Having 10grams of cocoa a day supposedly helps to maintain your health, and you could get it from dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate usually starts from 45% onwards. Then 70+%, then 80+%, then 99%. I'm enjoying the 99% one now. 10 grms daily, and I haven't had any outbreaks from consuming my regular sinful dose of chocolate. ; ) Have a blast, just drink more water.

You know, that is what I have always heard. But I do not eat chocolate, until this last Halloween (I think I ate more chocolate then I have eaten in my entire life!) and every time I did, with in an hour I wanted to go wash my face because it felt soooo greasy! So I want to say from experience, I'd avoid it for a clear face. It's better to be safe then sorry.

Chocolate gives you pimples when you eat it too much. The possibility can depend on skin type too.

Chocolate only contributes to pimples if you rub it on your face (or wherever the pimples are popping up).

Food doesnt make you get pimples, its genitic and how clean you keep your skin. You need to wash your face in the morning and at night too. When all that dirt and grease gets in your pores and then you leave it over night your pores get infected which causes pimples

Yes it's true. However, the sugar with the chocolate could contribute to them getting worse.

Yes and No. It depends on your skin type. I know that's not the answer you wanted, but some people break out when they eat chocolate and others do not.
