Given this, I don't see much mandate for the Senate Bill, do you?

IF people, enough people, pay attention to the DEEDS not just the WORDS of the democrats over the next two years, and VOTE OUT those who do not follow through, REGARDLESS OF PARTY, maybe they will get the hint. THROW THE BUMS OUT. We need TERM LIMITS on every elected office in the land and we also need every ballot option to include "NONE OF THE ABOVE" and when "none of the above" wins, the parties have to present new candidates. My bet is we will see the democrats try and distract everyone from Congress with the Presidential campaign while they slide through a liberal agenda and stonewall anything reps offer. And somehow we will end up with less freedoms and higher taxes two years from now and no one will figure it out until after the election, by which time they'll all say "Blame Bush", everyone will nod their heads and declare it good.

Of course I wonder, but I can also guess. The Democrats definitely have the most to gain from illegal immigration. They see it is a definite possibility that these people will become a new entitlement based resource for votes. It does fit their agenda well, as they are the party of big spending (although the so-called Republicans have proven to be baby Dems themselves) and high taxation to pay for it.

We must all remember that many mexicans come from a mentality where communism/socialism is very enticing; this was evidenced by the demonstrations of Mexican flag waving illegals shouting "Aztlan!" (the mythical country which many Mexicans are told is their birthright). These demonstations were organized by US communist organizations.

People messed up by voting for the Dems in this case, but they did it because they could see little difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. This was the fault of the Liberal Republicans, not the people of the US.

The Democrats will give Bush something he wants badly, and that is Amnesty for up to 20 million illegals. This is not good at all.

I am feeling pretty positive that the government will deal with the illegal immigration problem in a humane manner.
