a lot of people agree with red but i took into consideration to shake it up maybe blue? how about a few more ideas!

I think red is too common today, I would try purple. Or maybe pick two different colors!

If you want intense color, you need to bleach or color strip the tips before dying it. If you don't do that, you'll only get a tint of color and it'll blend in with the black. Oh and if you're doing this by yourself, I would suggest varying the length of the tips. Don't just make it a big stripe or it'll look like you just dipped your hair in dye.
As for color, blue is harder to see in normal lighting and you'll get a more noticable tint in natural sunlight. If you want to use unnatural colors, I suggest Special Effects temporary hairdye which adds nice tints to black hair. You can buy it from Hot Topic but I suggest www.amphigory.com because they are cheaper and have customer pictures! Happy Dyeing!

people with black hair almost always do red...go with blue...i have had both colors in my hair (its black) and both look good. but i personally liked blue because you dont see it as often as you do the red. but if you do chose blue...get the blue hair dye from hot topic....it works well on dark hair.

Dying just your tips looks trashy in my opinion, but I'd say red would be the most flatering.

i have blonde tips right now (used to be my highlights but my hair grew out) i liked the look so i kept the highlights. red would look great too

Why just the tips? I think it looks better with highlights through the whole head.
