Yes, quite amusing...
Sorry, man, but you've already lost the War in Iraq...your former allies have pulled out - Japan, Spain, Italy, and the UK is withdrawing its troops this year. The US has learned NOTHING from Vietnam and their global exploits of the past 50 years.
P.S. WW1 - 1YEAR (the US entered in 1917)
WW2 - 3 years (and only when JAPAN attacked them, not GERMANY)
Makes me feel proud to be Canadian that we were in WW1 and WW2 from the start, not when our own interests were at stake. That's called courage, and character.
(Also, on the topic of WW2, it was the Soviets and Stalin that defeated Hitler and were easily the first to Berlin.)

First of all if god would of blessed those brave men and women dieing for you, they wouldn't be dead would they.People keep thanking some god for this or that. It is a dead soldier that gives you your rights and freedoms. We all support the troops, but not to many want to stand up in their own country and support those freedoms and rights that they die for here at home. When and if they get home, their phones will be bugged, the mail will be checked, their cars will be stopped and searched on our highways and some cowards will say it is okay as long as I feel a little more secure. No America you have already lost. I was young once and a soldier . Two tours in Nam. Was told the same bs. If Nam falls all of South east Asia will go. Did it happen? NO. A Russian once during the cold war said to us we will bury you. What happend to the Soviet Union. Did we give up our freedoms and rights then. No.Did we go around thinking that the sky is falling, no. Somehow today we got hood winked into thinking that some little country that wanted to sell oil cheaper then the the big wig oil barrons of this great country should be blown away at all costs. The cost was and still is our children and their future.Sending more troops is a waste. Those iuds and raodside bombs going off because we are there, nothing else.Yes we have already lost and the loss will be larger if we stick around and keep pitching this illegal war with catch phrases that sound good to us.You will not win a war of insurgencies or ideas .911 did not originate out of Iraq. The terrerists there now is because we are there and they are aiming at us. If and when we leave they will stop the gore of killing each other. The civilians die because we are in their neighborhoods, and they are just to close to the targets. Bush and his guys are already saying that they have lost. They just don;t want to give in until they are out of office. Not by the numbers of the brave that loose their young lives over there.Thank you very little. I think you could get a million diffferent opinions and they may all be right, i don't think it's as bad as it looks on tv, the media only reports the blood and gore, not the good things happening, like for example many cities are benefitting from rebuilt schools and infra-structure that will be there long after we leave, it's a tough question to answer, some parts of the country we are winning, others we aren't doing so well, i guess what happens after we finally pack up and go will determine whether we win or not, if it spirals into chaos and breeds more terror then we will have lost, if over time a truce or stable country develops with human rights and a semblence of law and order and a middle class then you could say it was worth, in short, i'd say it's too early to tell...

YES WE ARE LOOSING !!

Because our curropt oil junkee politicians are waging useless wars there are hardly any troops when and where they should be: ie at real emergencies like 'katrina'.

The billions of dollars spent on this war could have been well spent on other urgent priorities that US has. And I am sure if you ask any of the millions of poor people we have in US now, they will be able to tell your ignorant "***" what they are.

Besides the real place where more troops were required was south korea, because that would have deterred N. Korea to go nuclear. They were the ones with WMDs and our politicians knew that well.

Iran is already showing us a fingure on all issues, because they know what mess we have got ourselves into by going to Iraq.

We are in a loose loose situation now, because if we stay we loose , and if we leave we loose anyway because Iraq will become the breeding ground for future attacks on US.

If the goal of the war is to "create a stable democracy in Iraq", then we lost before we ever went in.

Iraq is a sectarian nation which lives in the 7th century.

Democracy is far too advanced for them at this stage in their evolution.

Only Secular nations can even HOPE to handle the advanced nature of a democracy.

You can't simply march your army into a country and tell them to get off the camel, start driving this Lexus, and vote!

They have to completely rewire themselves as a nation before they can even comprehend something as advanced as democracy.

Well I dunno.

Depends on how you define winning.

If simply killing terrorists is winning then sure.. we're winning. But if seriously stomping out terrorism is winning then we are loosing. Not by troop count but by the fact that victory isn't what we're moving towards.

People in this country all have their own views on what victory in Iraq is. Is victory democracy in Iraq? We've won! Is it a secure country? We've lost! Is it to improve on Saddam's country? We've lost! Is it to stop torture of Iraqis? We've lost!

It's all opinion.

What that "For Butter Or Worse" guy put down is kinda extreme though. Especially in his source box. I may not agree with everything Canada does or the UK does but I've never thought that a citizen in their military deserved death.

I agree with "God Bless those who have served"
But we have already lost. There is no way we can win.
Everything we do is more expensive because of this Government following the course they have selected.
We remove our shoes and other items in order to board a plane, have our luggage searched, our phones tapped, and God only knows what else. We need to get out and accept our loss and try to get back on the democracy track.

They nevertheless say that approximately Vietnam. over the final 0.5 of the twentieth people started questioning that any conflict became the incorrect conflict to be in. Vietnam, Grenada, Nicaragua, Gulf a million (desolate tract hurricane) and a couple of others. they don't look to comprehend that if one us of a in a distant area of the planet is going under, so do something. that is talked approximately as the Domino theory. conflict is a needed evil. the way that superb describes it for me is "the fee of Freedom isn't unfastened".

So you think the sole gauge of winning and losing is how many US soldiers die? I hope you never teach my children.

Let me ask you this. What if our goal is to create a stable democracy and we lose 5 soldiers. Then we pull out and the country falls to hell and chaos. Did we win b/c we only lost 5 people?

I do. You have to pick your battles. I suppose if the meaning of the war was important you fight even if you lose. At least you go out fighting.
