Its not that necessary, but you should get it anways. It gives you more control of your car in any situation and its a good safety equiptment to have on your car.

My uncle got an toyota avalon too. In Cali you dont really need itunless you live up in the moutains of sumthing. But Hey , Always good to have extra features man =]

It's good to have but not absolutely necessary on a sedan. If you do winter driving in mountain areas it would be a very good idea to get it.
