my friends dad hits her and shes scared to death of him. hes not the nicest guy and sometimes yells at me too. I known this girl forever and never seen her cry so much when shes scared of her dad. Her mom knows about her dads anger issues but i think her mom is just plain lazy. I know it's none of my business, but I'm scared for her.

You should help her...Call CPS, heck even the police they will do it for you. You can tell someone in your school who will also call them...Anytime there is abuse, it is good to get involved...You do not have to tell the who you are, you can remain anonymous...

Someone needs to intervene with your friend in some way. Your friend should not have to grow up this way.

There are a number of ways that intervention could happen, but I think anyone you go to [parents, school counselor, teacher] then CPS would become involved.

If CPS does an investigation then there are a number of possible outcomes. One of them is that no one interviewed tells the truth, there are no marks on your sister, and the report is considered unsubstantiated. If this happens your friend's dad could consider this a wake-up call and be better, or he could get really angry and lash out at your friend. If the report is considered to be abuse, then one of two things will happen. Either your friend's father will be required to do some sort of counseling, whether it is monthly visits with a social worker or anger management classes, or your friend will wind up in foster care. THere are issues with foster care but your friend would be safe.

I think you really need to talk to your parents about this and see what they say. Remember that there is a lot at stake either way. When I was a teen my best friend was being abused and I never told anyone and she really ended up ruining her life once she moved out.

Have you heard the song lately..."Runaway Love" luda!?!?!?! Tell someone....before it's too late, your mom or dad if you trust them enough not to bring your name up to anyone so it's private! I know you dont want to lose your friend nor ur friendship....but if it saves a person...in the end one day she may thank you for doing soooo!!!!

I take it ur both in ur teens somewhere since for one ur on here and for two u've been to eachother houses long enough for her father to act out in such away in fornt of you.....TELL SOMEONE...

Good luck and hope this has helped!

telling seems like a responsible thing but i think its your friend's right to make a call for help. you could end up making it worse even though you had the best intentions. but then again if you think its gonna get to the point of murder then by all means intervene!
