Our previously house-trained 4-year-old cockapoo has recently started peein in the house. Usually he goes into the master bedroom and pees on the white carpet. He has done this increasingly often over the last two weeks or so. He was pretty well house-trained before so I do not understand this!

Take the dog to the vet first. Could be kidney or bladder problems. Tell the vet what he is doing.
Once a dog pees in a spot it is very hard to get the scent out totally. His nose will tell him it is a bathroom. Sort of lik eus seeing th eproceline potty and being told no you can't use it, it is not a toilet it is a rug. After you see the vet try cleaning the carpet area with white vinegar. Be sure to let the vinegar soak deeply. Do not use an amonia based cleaner. Pee has ammonia in it and f you try to clean with it you will just be making it smell more like a bathroom to your dog. Most cleaners are eitehr bleach or ammonia based. You may even hae to call th e company ot find out fo rsure.
Keep in mind you rug is not ruined! If the urine has soaked into the pad just pull part of the carpet up and replace that section of pad. GEt a steam rug cleaner and while the rug is up clean it from the back. IN canse of furture accidents I also put a large sheet of plastic on top of the pad before I put the rug back . Plastic about 2 feet bigger than the peepee spot. That way if there was antoher accident it would not soak into the pad, the plastic would prevent it and I could clean more easily.
And to further save your carpet. Go get some of the oxyclean and clean. They have it for rugs. If you let that urine set it will discolor. When urine decays it becomes ammonia. The fibers of our carpets are acrylic, plastic but we all know, from using plastic storage bowls that plastic stains. If I were you I owuld get the oxyclean and follow ther dierectoin on back. I would do in immedinatly. And hope it has not set too long already.

Definitely take your cockapoo to the vet! This also happened to my cockapoo and when we took her to the vet, my sister and I learned that her kidneys were failing. Our vet said it was common in cockapoos. However, at that time our dog was much older then yours. As a precaution tough, I would not hesitate seeking a vet's help. As others mentioned, he could be suffering from a UTI, etc.
Cockapoos are incredibly smart. At the least, something probably happened that makes him consciously want to go where he shouldn't.

sometimes its behavioral (theres something going on that he doesnt like) and sometimes it could be a urinary problem (infection, stones, etc.) If there is no blood in the urine and he isnt dribbling around the house than its probably behavioral. Is there a new visitor in the house? New pet? Rearrange furniture? It could be almost anything!

may have an infection or you scolded it for something noe it is gettinig even. a lot of dog breeds wont do that where they eat and sleep so just to give you a hint if you dont want it in the msat. bed. try letting him sleep in there, unless that is already taking place

Take him to the vet to rule out any physical problems first. Then if no physical problems get back on here for advise re behavioral problems.

it could be that your dog wants more attention or if you just got a job or a big change or something that could upset him. or he is just trying to tell you he doesn't like the color of the carpet! ;)

Well the dog might be in stress or might be mad at you cuz this is what happened to me when we got a cat!!!! SO ya
