I got fired from a job over this. This woman who was a supervisor would always try to talk to me when I was busy working on something. I excused myself and continued on what I needed to do. The next thing I know I'm in the office getting fired for using profanity! What the hell is wrong with people these days? I'm getting Unemployment right now because the judge decided in my favor. But its a HUGE pay cut for me! I never said anything like what she said I did!

You could try to sue and take it to the courts but, it sounds to me like it might be a case of heresay, like a his word against yours.
Do you have any other co-workers or customers who would have overheard any of the going on's. Would they stand up for you in a court of law. If you can get even just one person in your corner, Then YES, file for harassment and wrongful dismissal.
Good Luck to you.

You had no control over this. You can't change people: you're stuck with them the way they are. In this unfortunate case the person had power over you. I've been in the same situation and WASN'T so fortunate as you: no unemployment cheque for me. There is all kinds of evidence that the sociopaths amongst us are the ones who climb that corporate ladder the fastest. In short, the type of behaviour displayed by your former supervisor is rewarded. Behaviours which are rewarded are more likely to be repeated. It's simple as PIE.

Some people get to be supervisors without any training in managing people. As a result, they tend to use "BULLY" tactics on the employees.

Some people like to focus on their work. To the supervisor, you not stopping work to talk with her was being rude to her. Since you were a quiet person, she thought she could pull the old "temper tantrum" and yell & scream & intimidate you.

I worked for state gov for 31 years. I would say 90% of the supervisors and managers that I saw, were BULLIES. For about 12 years, the agency I was with would send me to other state agancies to line out "problems" they were having. Most of the problems were caused by supervisors / managers with no "people skills" but who had gotten their jobs due to "political connections". And if I ever disagreed with what they were doing, they immediately started threatening to harm me - my job, my job evaluation, etc.

In many cases, I went into their agencies because their Agency Director wanted somebody to correct the problems these people were causing. In some cases, the Governor's Office sent us in (boy were we ever popular then).

The event that stands out most, is:
I'm 6'1" and about 200 pounds

2 managers (one lifted weights every day - look like a NFL lineman and the second was so tall I only came up to his shoulder), came into my office, blocked the only door, and threatened to throw my a** out the window. We were on the 5th floor.

yeah, this crap is still going on; when are they going to learn !...there is just no working with some people...maybe you have a lawsuit, maybe not, but anyway there was no way you could work under someone like that.
they do want you to play "the game" which is hard to do when you don't know what "the game" is ! right?

see cnvc.org
to get a clue about what's up with people; everyone is trying to meet all their complex needs, many times at another's expense.
They don't know any better!
Good Luck !

I'd hire an attorney and sue your former employer. They will take the case pro bono or take part of your settlement as payment. I'd sue like crazy.
