I am confused! Doesnt it say in leviticus 11 that christian are not allowed to eat port-or swine as it says in the bible? As well as lobsters. As they are unclean. This is right, since pork is really bad for ones health! They eat what ever you throw then. And lobster, well, they are cleaners, they eat all the filth that is at the bottom of their environment.

BTW. ratracer, u should probaly read all of acts and understand exactly what is going on in the scriptures. DOnt just take out bits and pieces of text and try to conclude something. It is very clear what the lord is trying saying in this case, and it is not to tell him to eat any animal he wishes. U can read up on it.

The confusion you feel depends a lot upon your knowledge of the bible. If you are Jewish and not a believer in Christ. then you must by your law of the old covenant refrain from eating anything unclean.
If you are a believer in Christ you now have a freedom to eat any thing you want.
Acts was written by Luke and not by Paul as some on the forum believe
NIV Acts 10:9-16
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air.
13 Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14 "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

Paul wrote that we could forget about following the OT. He also made up a bunch of other things that persuaded the Gentiles to join his church. What you think about Paul is what you think about the old testament on that point.
Paul said a lot of things that Jesus never said.
Most Religious Empires use Paul to do what Paul did best; build and grow an empire; regardless.

the new testament is just that, a new testament. Jesus returned and changed many of the old laws. recall teh verse taht says we can eat of any animal, since God made them, they cannot be considered unclean ?
At least you're searching, pray for understanding, it will come to you !

It all depends if you want to follow the Bible to the very letter. If you dont want to eat any of those things, which by the way are totally ok to eat...well that's your choice. I'm going to eat what I like. After all God created all creatures. If he didn't want us to eat them he shouldn't have made them.
