Have you tried giving your dog good food? Most commercial dog foods are garbage, literally and actually garbage the butchers and food companies can't put in human foods. Ger th e dog a good food like Solid Gold of Wellness from a pet shop.

Other more pressing ideas. You dog could have bowl obstruction. When the bowel becomes obstructed the dog will loose its appetite. This is a medical emergency, once the bowel obstructs edog will shortly die an agonizing death!

A dog can have a partial obstruction also. Some fecal matter can pass but it will be loose.

And there are many medical conditions that will cause a dog to loose its appetite. You really need to see a vet right away. Much like a human if the appetite goes there is something bad wrong.

Dogs really don't get anorexia. although dogs have a full range of emotions and are pretty high in cognition they live much more by instinct than humans. While the term anorexia really means just lack of appetite it has come to mean a mental illness where a human becomes unable to eat, generally they have a distorted body image.

Technically there are many reasons a dog would be anorexic but they are medical not emotional. Your dog needs a vet.

Dogs don't get anorexia. Dogs are much more confident in themselves than some humans. She might have a digestive tract problem or a dental problem. Or just doesn't like the food.
If this has been going on for a while get an appointment to the vet soon.

Take him to the vet and I would have to agree with what raredawn said about commerical dog food. I was watching a program where they talked about what was put into commerial dog food. Yuk parts of some dead animals.

It made my stomach turn just thinking about that. They were talking about the list of ingrediences and when it says animal by products it's talking about other dead animals.

Dogs don't have a sense of body image...not that we know of anyway, so your dog doesn't have anorexia per say. If your dog refuses to eat, perhaps there is a serious underlying condition such as problems in the digestive tract, or maybe it is something as simple as your dog not liking the food you buy it.

If you dog is not eating and starting to lose weight you need to take it to the vet. They will be able to run tests and find the right treatment for it.

having an anorexic dog means you have a sick dog. Go to the vevt to see if there's any worms infestation or diseases. If your dog is negative, then he/she is just finicky!

If your dog isn't eating, the problem is much, MUCH more likely to be physiological than psychological. He's probably sick, so take him to a vet.
