I agree with the others who say that you must read. If you will not read, you will find that you cannot write.

First of all, you're not bad at English, you just haven't put enough time and practice into it.

I agree with the previous post that you need to read more. I am a firm believer that reading influences the ability to write. Plus--there are so many books out there that there is sure to be one that will interest you. Make a trip to the library first thing.

Next, start really focusing on your writing skills. Writing comes easy for some people and not so easy for others. For some, writing is a way of releasing tension and the words just flow. However, for others, it is hard, lonely, and the words seldom flow. In fact, many great authors say that for them, writing does not come easily.

Many times we find it difficult to find a topic of interest or are forced to write on a topic we fnd of no interest at all, however, what is important in writing is the personal aspect of it. Good writing has an aliveness that keeps the reader interested. This is how you are able to relate to your audience.

Get with your teacher for tips she can give you, visit the library and start reading more, then work on your writing. Maybe even start a blog where you post your writing and are able to get some feedback. Don't give up! You can do it!

It's hard for some people. Now, aside from some tutoring, which might be a good idea, here are two tips that might help you.

1. Read more. Many many research experiments have shown that the more you read, the better your writing gets. Fiction seems to be the most helpful, but the newspaper, or even Cosmo will work, as long as you read the articles all the way through. Try to get a feel for how professional writers word things.

2. For the timed free-write, stop making any sense at all. Just let words flow from your head to your paper. It's great to practice with at home, too. Sometimes you end up with a page full of "Brick cheese chicken fart street hopping bunny..." Just a random train of thought, but sometimes you get some good stuff out of it. I keep a notebook of the best snippets of free-writing to use later. You might want to try that, so you have some starting points for class.

And, try not to be nervous. That's the #1 cause of writers' block!

Have you discussed this with your teacher? Maybe he or she could give you some exercises to improve your writing.
Do you have a more experienced writer in your life who could help you out? Maybe you could write some short essays or stories or paragraphs and let that person (or your favorite teacher) give you some feedback, and then go back and revise it.
Is it composing that's the trouble, or actually writing? The real question is this--would it help you if you had a computer to answer those assessment questions?
I hope you can find some assistance soon! Good luck!!

sounds like you are having trouble generating ideas to write about, not like you are bad at english, right? Try brainstorming before starting to write your essay. Write a few notes on the back of the page or you can use a bubble system where you put the topic in the middle bubble and then write in bubbles around it what that topic makes you think of. 3 of those bubbles should provide the 3 main points for you essay, one per paragraph.

TW hit the nail on the head. Read, read, read! You would be amazed at what you can pick up from reading.

Also, when writing something more lengthy, like the paper you were describing, write from your heart. Just wrote the flow of words from your brain as if you're talking to yourself, or to a friend on the phone, or writing in a diary.

If you need help with proper punctuation, I'd recomend a book called "Eats Shoots and Leaves." See it here:

Take a look at it in a bookstore sometime. (You might even have it in your school library.)

Why not start going to a quiet, comfortable, and familiar place. After you find a place that meets those three requirements, pick an old random English writing assignment prompt and begin writing whatever comes to you mind. You're probably censoring too much so you don't know what to write. If you get writers block, you just need to be more comfortable writing. You know the saying: "Practice make perfect!"

Try going in a quiet room, not music and no tv. Write you papers and time your self. You may be able to get some hints at www.studybuddy.com type in english. Good Luck. OH< can you ask at school for extra help. Tell the teacher what you are having problems with and tell him/her you would like to improve.

Easy as 1, 2, 3. Now relax.

Get one idea - such as football.
Write down 3 things about football for example:

1. I want to tell you why I hate football.
2. I hate football because I am very bad at playing it. I also don't like it when I try to watch it on tv, and everyone starts yelling and screaming when their team looses or wins.
I get tired of the screaming.
3. In summary, I don't like football because of the screaming and yelling, and I don't like playing football because I have tried and tried to play, but I'm not good. I let my team down because I'm not that good.

So - in order to write, use the 1, 2, 3 method
1. Tell them what you're going to tell them.
2. Tell them what you know about whatever subject you are going to write about.
3. Summarize what you told them.

So again get an idea, such as sunshine
1. I want to write about sunshine
2. Sunshine is good
3. I just told you why I like sunshine.

Then write one sentence on each of the 3 items.
Then write one more sentence on each of the 3 items.
Then one more sentence on each of the 3 items.

Before you know it, you will be writing like I am writing, and giving other people advice on how to write.

Don't forget to write from your heart. Really tell people what you want to say. I have no idea who you are, but I admire you for trying. You are asking for help. That is a very good thing.
If you keep trying, there is nothing that you cannot learn in the future. Don't pick on your dad for getting mad at you. Your father loves you. Your father wants the best for you. Your father wants you to get straight A's.

GOD bless us one and all, always.

use the equation y-y1=m(x-x1) (2,-5) m=-4/3 y-(-5)=(-4/3)(x-2) y+5=(-4/3x)+(8/3) y=(-4/3x)-(15/3)+(8/3) y=(-4/3x)-(7/3) (2,0),m =a million/2 y-0=(a million/2)(x-2) y=(a million/2x)-a million whilst the slope is comparable to 0, meaning that the line is horizontal. The y fee would be consistent, and basically the x fee will replace

The best thing to do is practice. Specifically if you want to write more in a shorter amount of time. Just give yourself a topic, or use a question from this site and write.
