Yes. Usually male cats are teritorial and spray to mark it, whether or not they are fixed. Usually.

Most likely, no. I myself have a cat which is 4 years right now and he was neutered when he was about 1 years old. He hasn't sprayed or marked his area since.

Unlike some of the other posts here, I know that male cats WILL still spray after being neutered. It has to do with the age of the cat when it is done. They will still have the ability to spray, but the urge will diminish after a while. They actually "forget" how to after a while when the hormones drop. BUT some don't forget how to, then it is a behavioral thing rather than a hormonal thing.

If you neuter the cat while he is young (around 6 months) then he probably will not spray anymore. However, if you wait to neuter the cat until after he has started spraying, then he has begun a habit and it may not go away with fixing him! Do it while he is young!

If you neuter the male cat before he becomes sexually mature, you take away his behavior to spray or mark territory. So the younger the better, cause once they spray somethin, that smell will never leave.

We nuetered our male cat as a kitten, right after we got him, and he has never sprayed even once.He is almost three, now, In fact he has really good manners. He doesnt shred things, or do anything that is really bad. So I think if you do it before they know they can spray, or get any territorial urges, they probably wont.

No, one of the benefits of neutering is that the cat will NOT mark territory. Also, neutered cats do not "stray" as often, and will stay closer to home.

being neutered kinda drops his testosterone levels, meaning he wont have the need to mark his teritory. my cat is very mellow and friendly. he's never sprayed or misbehaved.

WELL THAT DEPENDS IF YOU GOT HIM FIXED AFTER HE ALREADY STARTED SPRAYING IF SO THEN HE COULD AND WILL CONTINUE SPRAYING TO MARK HIS TERRITORY.
