Maybe nerves

It could be that he was very nervous. Sometimes when people are not comfortable saying something it may not be lying but instead it's a case they are just uncertain how you would react to their wording. Give it a few more days and watch and see how he reacts. Is he more willing to share his feelings with you and are you doing the same for him? Reassure him of how you feel and then see if the stuttering goes away.

The only thing that is certain is that he was nervous. He could have been lying, but chances are if he's not a very outgoing guy most of the time he was telling the truth and he was skeptical of how you'd react to such a bold statement.

Well that doesn't mean he lied. Maybe he was nervous. When a guy is saying how he feels about someone i don't think he lying. Even when a guy is lying he wont usually stutter.

Looking in someone's eyes makes you know if they are honest if their eyes were serious that time, probably. Honest and genuine, he probably was just a little shy at the start. But if he does like you, you should go out with him.

He probably does but might have Tourette's or another speech impediment. If you know who he hangs out with, take them out to lunch and don't ask about him at the starting gate. Talk to them about other things and then say something like, "Fred / Lisa, how well do you know Andy? Does he have a girlfriend? I'm asking cause he's _____________ and _____________ [put reasons in blank] and yet he was tongue tied trying to tell me how he felt. The answer from the ones we're calling Fred / Lisa might help you out. Fred / Lisa will know whether he's got another girl in his life or not if not both of them. Good luck.

Stuttering Stanlyyy.

Well if he had the nerve to go up and tell you, why would he lie? I bet he was just nervous and was afraid you'd turn him down. Give him a break, lol.

when he stuttered..maybe he was just nervous about what you would react to him saying that to you.

if you have known him for a long time, and he's always honest with you. then why would he be lying to you now?

My honest opinion is that he was nervous....I think men have a hard time getting words like that to come out.

if you find what he said genuine, he cant possibly be lying... he was probably nervous and not sure how you would respond to his feelings... if the feeling is mutual, grow towards building better communication... dont be too bothered abt how he said it.,...
