No, at least in Alabama there is no need to post any type of a sign warning drivers about a photo taking system. My suggestion to you is that you wait for the ticket in the mail and if you don't get it count yourself lucky. The purpose of having the speed detection device along with a camera is to catch people who are violating the law much like an officer who sits off of the roadway obscured from public view running radar. The only difference in the two is that the radar/camera costs alot less than paying an officer etc. Much more cost efficient but nowhere near the fun!!!

Here in Toledo, OH there has to be. Due to initial local complaints and other OH court battles, they have made that stipulation that they be marked and in clear visibility so many feet ahead of the cam. I know because I was caught by one and I read into possibilities to beat it. A side note: here there are not points charged to your license, it's all about revenue and "safety". Here's an interesting side note, the law also states that here that speed postings are a mere suggested speed. So, oddly enough, we don't have to follow the listed speed, but yet we can be charged for not following it. Weird! BTW, the primary company to these cams is in AZ and they make about 3/4 the revenue generated (here:750k/yr), not a bad take for installing them and then turning over the video/stills to another company to handle the ticket mailing, which is simply reviewed by your local PD who Hancock's it.

They don't need to put up a warning out in public, because you don't have the expectation of privacy. Places where you would expect to be private should have a sign. (The dressing room)

You know speeding is against the law, why should they have to warn you about it?
